hey dr. ryan , i have a que .... as you said the most congenitally missing teeth are third molars and in bootcamp it is written that the most congenitally missing tooth is maxillary lateral incisors.. now i am really confused please help

Perhaps they were talking about the most common congenitally missing primary tooth (which is maxillary lateral). What I have here is absolutely correct.

Nobody knows for sure! Some possible etiologies include local circulatory disorders, viral infections, local trauma, medications during pregnancy, facial asymmetry, or some combination of the above.
