Here's my theory on everyone picking the same number: At 0:17 Oz says "one of *two* methods" and holds two fingers up, at 0:22 he holds two fingers up, at 1:10 he holds two fingers up saying "eye to eye", at 1:14 he pauses saying "I want you all *to* picture", at 3:15 he emphesizes "*two* unbelievable tv host" and avoids saying three after, at 6:03 he spins his hand around on the two while counting down. He also often points with one finger from each hand at the same time (two fingers in total). Oz is truly is a master of subtly planting a thought in our minds! Amazing performance!

People pick Giraffe because of the way he describes how to choose an animal, He says stand tall and himself stands tall with his arms out. He appreciated her pink jacket, one is more likely to pick something u know the other person likes and has appreciated. That's my understanding, it may not be everything he did but a part of it for sure. From the moment he comes in he keeps using both hands while gesturing, pointing repeatedly. Of course he says imagine repeatedly.

Probably like he said at the beginning, I try to plant thoughts in the back of your head. It's either that or it's a set-up.

My thoughts on that is that he keeps mentioning EYES and EYES, close your EYES, like he wants them to think, oh yeah i need to close my "2" eyes. And he keeps repeating the rules. So what you do is repeat the rules in your head and think of those eyes you need to close and after there's no time to think of a number. So you go with the easy 2. Physically, the 3 and 4 aren't really a thing human do as a reflex. 5 and 1 are the opposites, less chances. Like when you play rock paper scissors, you repeat : We'll go rock, paper, and at scissors we go OK ? , so let's repeat, at scissors, we show. and then 1-2-3 bam, the chances of them picking scissors isn't 33% anymore, you're implenting the word "Scissors" in their head. So since they are thinking about When to show their choice, they eventually go with the first choice they think about and it's gonna be scissors. Of course this is like a "mostlikely going to" Situation, but we can't see all the decorations in the studio. I'm pretty sure he made sur to put some "V" shapes and numbers 2 somewhere.

Ok here is a theory on how her gt her to think of Taylor Swift: RED is her most recent album (re-recording) released and the big bag on the table is red. Taylor is tall and girly and the stuffed animal is a pink giraffe ( she also has an album cover that is pink). The whole audience picking the number 2 prob made her think of her song "22" which everybody was jamming to recently cuz new year 2022. And finally the whole "i'm not gonna ask u to pick a fav guest" Ellen expressed multiple times how much she loves Taylor so she is prob one of her fav guests !

Giraffe lady was a plant. The only one in the audience, but he literally picked her out of the crowd. It’s more believable because the rest of the people are picked randomly. The other color crayons were clued or connected together with strings so the pink ones were the only color Ellen could pick up. Imagine actually was written on his hand, he even asked her to “play along”. The number 2 thing was genuinely what mentalists always claim to be doing but rarely are, actual planting suggestions. Not just the saying the number 2 and making the hand gesture many times also saying the word “piece’ as in “peace” multiple times. He had a lot of cards with different celebrities, he didn’t actually cut one, he just skillfully replaced the cut up card with the Swift card at the right instant. I hope I’m not breaking some code here, he did basically challenge us to figure it out.

I did the same. I thought 5 at first then shifted to 2 that it would look cool. I feel he predicted 2 based on probability that ppl r used to keep v sign mostly and suppose if I had less explanation, I mean, directly if he asks to think a no. between 1 to 5, then numbers would be so random. So my guess here is, given that amount of time to choose a number between 1 to 5 like he did, study might have given 2. He had done his study in mentalism.
