It was Peter Dinklage who complained about using dwarfs in the first place that forced Disney to pivot and remove them. Then, when the test screenings came out and people saw the replacement, they crashed out. So, in a panic, Disney reshoot the film and places these atrocities in place.

On a slight tangent, it's like when Shigero Miyamoto advised not to have original characters in the Paper Mario: Sticker Star. The developers treated that statement like gospel and went to extremes despite it not being a corporate mandate, just a suggestion. Not to say Dinklage's opinion doesn't matter, but you don't HAVE to listen to them. Besides, if the little people in question were all aboard to play the role, then that statement would be a moot point.

There just so happens to be a live action version of Snow White that your niece might like. It's called Mirror Mirror, and it actually has short people playing as the dwarves. One of them was in the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Although Mirror Mirror isn’t supposed to be following the Disney storyline to a T, I still believe it’s a pretty good adaptation. Plus the actress who plays Snow actually seems like she looks the part. At this point, I just hate how they make Rachel look visually bad. I'm a huge Disney fan & Snow White is a sentimental favorite of mine, because Snow White was my beloved grandma's favorite. When I saw the trail for this live-action version it honestly hurts me heart. Honestly, I don't even think that my beloved grandma would even want to see this movie. Personally, I'm hoping that one or two things happen. 1. That Disney will take a loss on this & just not release this movie or 2. That it just completely bombs at the theaters. This movie looks like complete trash 🗑 to me, in my opinion and I absolutely refuse to see it. The animated version is a classic for a reason and it should remain that way and not be tarnished by this
