There is another way to change the audio but I didn't go over it in this video. There is an Audio Equalizer built into the Deus II that I might add into another video. Hope you guys are getting something out of these videos. From the comments I'm seeing and responding to I'd say you are so thanks for watching!

I happen to love the way this machine looks sounds and feels but I just can’t spend that kind of money right now or I’d have one😂😂. The DEUS is an entirely different animal
@patrickmarino860110 ай бұрын
With all the ability the deus 2 has, not everyone wants to spend so much time and energy programing it. We need a turn on and go deus that maximizes everything in its programs. You would see many more sales if this happened. Combine ease of use with outstanding ability and you can't make enough to keep up with demand. Let's call it the deus 3. What a unique idea!😊😊
@davidsawmandave87318 ай бұрын
The equinox has almost done that but the coils broke on mine and just can't trust minelab engineering, bought a D2 and what a learning curve , major pain in the ass but I am still trying
@jamesnightingale97822 жыл бұрын
It’s not that much different to the Nox really..just a different layout..obviously wireless coil connection and lighter. And a few more fancy bits.like more slots for saving custom programs. I like the X Y mode.but are they really needed. That’s a big price so it should be a good machine. I’ve seen a lot of people praising this machine..mostly dealers. I’ve got mine on order and I probably will give it a proper working. But as you know it takes time to learn..The Equinox has been a long learning curve we have all been there and its not a machine without its faults. But I can honestly say with the 15” coil now I know this machine it’s really deep. The Deus has a lot too live up too. Great videos thanks for all your hard work. Regards Jim uk.
@MentalMetal2 жыл бұрын
James my friend, no disrespect to your opinion but they are completely different machines than the NOX. Now don't get me wrong I love the NOX and will never part w/mine but those fancy bits are tools to help you determine whether to dig or not. It will take time to like the machine if you have never used one before. I'd give it at least 100 hours of use before making any real judgement. These folks posting videos after only 30 or 40 hours of use, need a few more hours on it IMO. I'm not here to convince people on what they buy I just want folks to enjoy their machine. The D2 takes some time so these videos hopefully help others shorten their learning curve a bit.

THX for doing the series of beginner vids on the D2. i have added this quirky machine to my minelab detectors...and the hopes are that it will compliment them nicely even though it is a much more finicky machine for sure!! so MM....on my NOX, i can crank up the IRON BIAS so that the detector knows to identify the crap items as straight iron....while simultaneously turning off the iron area sound(the iron tone of 0-8 on the detector. how do i do that on this crazy D2? i see the iron volume adjustment setting fine....but where do i have the ability to turn off the iron sound ONLY...and altogether like the NOX can?

On the fence, heck we only live once, go for it, I did and I'm not regretting it. I programed my Deus II to sound and act like my NOX 800. Distinct sound for nickles, and high pitch for copper pennies and above, and everything else with a soft quiet sounding tone. When hunting, I'm listening for two sounds, and when I hear one of them, I stop and dig. I love it. I probably bought it cause I'm old and not getting any younger and don't have many years left to detect, so I "just did it". And now I am happy, and that's what matters most.🙂

Hey Scott. How many frequencies is the Deus II scanning at one time in the multi frequency mode
@MentalMetal2 жыл бұрын
Great question Garry I don't have any answer for you on that. I suspect they would keep that a secret but I think it will vary depending the program but I do know that Deus Mono only uses 1 :-) Sorry I wish I had an answer for you.

Reading the manual, out of the 12 built-in programs, 6 of them use multi from 4.0-40khz, 3 of them 4.0-24khz, 2 of them 4.0-14khz and the 1 mono where you select 4-45khz. Available are 4, 7, 15, 21, 28, 35, 40, 45. (Just received mine today, so freshly read!) 😊

Great video, Scott. Very helpful for the soon to be D2 users. Does the D2 have a "depth" indication (like other detectors) when detecting a target? How do you like swinging the lighter weight of the D2? Keep Digging, Scott!
@MentalMetal2 жыл бұрын
Thanks my friend. The horse shoe pattern will indicate depth. The more it fills in the shallower the target is. If you are only seeing a small portion of it highlighted it will be deep. Sometimes you won't get any of it to fill in and those are the really deep targets. How do I like swinging it? Its a dream. I also own the original Deus and I've been looking forward to the D2 now that it is waterproof.
@DIG_50502 жыл бұрын
@@MentalMetal Scott, have you noticed flex in the handle when swinging the D2? My son has acquired a D2 11” and says it feels like the handle seems to flex a lot. This doesn’t seem normal to me. Can you do a video on the padlock 🔒 🔒 🔒 screen ? If you know what I’m referring too. I came across this by accident and almost could not get out of it, machine won’t respond to anything unless all three locks are open, so I can’t be the only person who has found themselves in this configuration screen and not know what to do or what that screen is for… I came across that screen again yesterday by accident and remembered how to get out of it, so I was able to save myself hahaha but I’m sure I’m not the only person who has gotten stuck there…

ahhh yes you must have come across that as well. Yes that is something I can do. Thanks for the idea
@mikebridgewater92282 жыл бұрын
I hit that same problem in the dive mode. It scared the crap out of me, 😆( because not alot of clear videos out yet on the D2) I understand why because the under water pressure will push the buttons on your machine so it has to be locked.

Hi Tedy...... which is best ..... hmmmm. I have about 2000 hours swinging the Nox. That's taken about 3 years, and I've used the 800 in every imaginable Colonial situation. But as for me, I can't tell you until I get about 3 to 500 hours on a machine in the real world, in my conditions. I may pick up a D2 at some point, but I'd have to hear it from someone I trust like Scott, that has a year or so on it. My guess is The Equinox will be better for 80 percent of guys that don't need to get so deep in the weeds, and the D2 better for guys that intend to take a couple of years learning the machine and wanna eek out that extra performance the Deus offers. All I can say without any reservation is the Equinox is an amazingly effective tool in the hands of a person that has alot of hours swinging it.

I think at this point many of us have those hours on the NOX and know how to get the most out of it. I will not disagree on that. I try to follow you, and end up wanting to change where the brakes are, hit a wrong button and then I'm screwed, I'm in another menu and don't know how to get out of that menu. OK ok, I'm just not smart enough to own a Deus II. Too many settings for me to master. You show us how to change settings, but you don't show us how to save them? Really?
@MentalMetal2 жыл бұрын
Wow Harry sorry you feel that way. Most of the major changes you make will need to be saved off as another program in one of your 1 of your 12 extra slots. However there are a few settings that will remain if you power it off. Your manual explains this. There is only so much I can show my friend. You really need to read the manual as you go through my videos. I stand by my advice and will tell you to pick a default program like program and learn it with out making any changes. Use it for a couple weeks until you get the feel for it, then start making slight adjustments like the audio options in this video. Sorry to disappoint you. I try my best to help others.
