I like being a Mentor, As its fun to be one when I am a warrior :) As long as I am not doing a RP, I will get an app. I will show you how I mentor. 1rst day: Give the app a rest, Tell them tomorrow they will go explore the territory. 2nd day: Show the app some major areas, (Like snake rocks, Sandy hollow, The gorge, ect.) And the borders, Also give them some info about them. Like, For the gorge, I normally say "This is the gorge. As you can see, Its pretty deep. We have lost some cats who got too close, And fell in. I would say to stay away from it. Most cats who fall in, Dont get out." When its night, Or you have showed every major area + border, say something like, "We have finished, Lets go back to the camp. Training tomorrow." or "Its getting dark, I can show you the other places later. Lets go back to camp." 3rd day: Either finish showing the areas, Or go hunting. When hunting, Show to app ways to crouch ect, And how to hunt prey. Tell them how to sniff out prey, And when they find some. Whisper some things about the prey. Mouse: "That is a mouse. It is common almost everywhere, And its super tasty. It will hear you before it sees you, So be careful, And put your paws down lightly, So you dont make noise." 4th day: Repeat hunting. 5th day: Ask another person with an app if your app could spar with them. If they say yes, Then tell them to come to Sandy hollow. (To get there, If you dont know the map like me, Go to starpedia and then click territory, Then click Thunderclan, Scroll down and you can see 'Sandy hollow' search that area and you will find the button, 'teleport'. Click that, And then your there!) Watch them fight, Then show them some moves and how to fight better. :) 6th day: Tell them about the other clans, How they fight, What food they eat, ect ect. 7th day: Have them stalk a random warrior, Watch them to see what they do. Have them report what they found out, And see if the warrior noticed or not. Can also be useful for spying on your enemies >:) All other days: Repeat most things, Intill they seem ready. Then ask them outa rp "Hey, Do you want to become a warrior?" if they say yes, Do an assesment. Here is what I say "Hey, ___paw. You have been a good apprentice, And I think you are ready to become a warrior." "Go hunt some prey, I will be watching." Then leave, Let them hunt for a while, And then come up and say, "You have done well. You will get your warrior name soon." Tell the leader, Then wait. If they say no, ask them when they want to become a warrior, Keep their answer in mind. Also, Tip for being leader. When assigning mentors, Say, "If you would like to have a apprentince, Step forwards." Let them step forwards, Choose one of them, And boom. If no one steps forwards, Give the app to either yourself, or your dep.

Part of the difficult-ness of playing a mentor imo is definitely the idea of warrior assessments. Some of the time I've been a mentor I've given my apprentices tasks for that, so I figured I'd share what I did here so that others can use them and not have to wrack their brains for an assessment task. Catch 3 easy prey, 2 more difficult prey (birds, squirrels, etc), and 1 of either generally difficult prey or whatever kind of prey is your Clan's signature thing (rabbits for WC, a frog or lizard in SC, etc) before moonrise. Successfully stalk the mentor character/another warrior/another almost-warrior-age apprentice from one point to another and back without being detected. Basically hide and seek. The mentor will hide somewhere on the map and the apprentice must use their warrior training to locate them.

I remember the one time a mentor tried to convict me of murder to get me exiled so he could to try to get out of mentoring. Then I pulled an uno reverse. I spread a rumor of him having a kittypet mate. Got him exiled. Then when I became a warrior I hunted him down and killed him.

I was a mentor once or twice in WCUE, and I feel like I’m good at it :). Sometimes I get my app and one other to practice battling, if in RC I show them to swim, how to hunt, different battle positions. I take them on a patrol of the border, let them know where to go and where not to go. I quite enjoy being a mentor! One time my app hated my oc for whatever reason, but that was awhile ago, I forgot what happened 😂

Yeah. They do that because normally the leaders choose randos to do mentoring. My clan did that once, And I said in team chat, "Hey guys! I know you dont want to be a mentor, But I dont choose random cats. I ask who wants to be mentors and choose out of those people. :)"

being a med cat mentor is definitely much easier because at least you can go through all the different herbs and their uses (and how to apply them. This one is probably the easiest, i swear the entire clan gains 10 injured cats a second whenever i'm med. At least it means i can actually demonstrate things. However it does get overwhelming when people start getting impatient just because you want to ACTUALLY roleplay instead of just going "*heals*" to everyone.)

However occasionally it does feature yelling at people to just fucking chill and stop overwhelming you because you're only one cat and can't tend to every single kit's broken legs at once. Especially when it comes to apprentices/kits begging to be med apps. like, i don't mind being asked once, but if you persistently beg me then the answer is going to be an immediate no. But even then, it's never going to be a yes right away. I typically tell them "We'll see." and from there i'll keep a close eye out on them, seeing how interactive they are as a character, will they go back to roleplaying? or just hang around doing nothing? i then filter them out from there. I'd rather no apprentice at all than one who isn't going to actually interact with my lessons and other injured clan cats and make me feel like i'm talking to a bag of rocks.

It sucks when literally everyone decides to get hurt at the same exact time. Once as med I was single handedly dealing with a hurt apprentice, queen giving birth, warrior dying, AND the leader losing a life all at the same time. In case you're wondering; the queen proceeded to die because I couldn't keep an eye on her (everyone was yelling at me to heal the leader who had all of their lives at the time), the warrior died but for some reason came back to life later, the leader lost their life but was fine afterwards, and the apprentice was fine.

My experience with it is that the apprentices i ended up with were always op, annoying, godmodders who wanted me to care about their mary sue character while they were bossing me around on what to do for them... So I usually left after about 10 minutes.

Its true XD As a person who is normally mentoring, Its very common to have people try and be the 'best' hunter and fighter. Because they want people to think they are cool. It does get annoying. But just tell them, "Hey. Please dont try and be the best, It takes the fun out of mentoring." I call it out more when its more xp people tho. As new people always do it, And if you are super strict it makes them feel bad.

Story-time to do with apps / mentoring. ( Warning it’s long. ) So first in the role-play, at the time when I had an app, who was siblings with another app, I was Deputy. It was fun, since we were in TC with a few other mediocre clans, though our clan was the biggest still. ( Didn’t do gatherings or stuff like that, unfortunately, ) And basically soon after I did a patrol with my apps, Lead left. No warning, probably disconnected. We waited 10 or so minutes, still hadn’t came back, so I became leader. Fun, right? Not really for my app's sibling. They were being ignored since their mentor was doing a mate RP, and even after I said to please do at least some mentoring, all they did was around a few minutes or so of hunting or something like that. So I became their mentor, which was fine, mainly since I was okay with having two apps, plus the apps didn’t mind. What does the mentor say/think? " Phew, thank goodness- // " To their mate. I was super annoyed, if they didn’t want an app they could have said so. Plus they were a sort-of stereotypical mate, short, " kawaii " & jealous. ( No offense if you RP like this, do you, as long as you don’t do what they did! ) So yeah. Then my original app's sibling had to go, so they did their stuff, ex-mentor / annoying Roleplayer didn’t care. They instead were jealous like I stated over their supposed mate talking with another warrior who was a she-cat / molly / etc. Even when I had to go, they didn’t care. So, yeah. Annoying Roleplayer there. I won’t say their user nor their RP name out of respect, but if they see this, just please learn from this RP to either not get an app or say you don’t want one. It isn’t rude if you say so politely, besides, you could do a bit of training even then time-skip, that’s *super* common, it’s happened to me, happens to most people. Just don’t ignore your app or run away to RP with a mate, there are other ways around it. That’s basically all.

I'm bored, seen this video several times, and know how to be a good mentor. So, I guess i'm going to tell you how to be a good mentor if you are not very good at it. 1. ) Be a spec. I suggest watching mentors who are experienced and learn from them until you feel like you have enough info to go out and roleplay as a mentor. Also watch warriors, and pay close attention to clan meetings and gatherings as a spec. Don't do anything to bother any roleplaying people though. Pay close attention to the tiny details, like when you get an app, you should maybe touch noses with them ( you don't have to, just a suggestion though ). 2. ) Here are some examples. If you are a warrior in a rp with apps who need mentors, then stay prepared for them getting a mentor because that mentor, may be you. If you really want to be a mentor, you need to show the reasons why you would be fit to mentor the app. You should say, " - the tom was excited to hear the apprentices mentor, was the apps mentor him? - " You should chat chats that talk about how you feel, how you are, and how you speak. For example, " - the she-cat would be excited to hear the apprentices mentor - " or " - the tom would hiss at his opponent, a slight bit of fear in his eyes - " . It's very important, now for some more examples. " `` Dusty' Wind! `` she would yowl as her friend fell of the gorge " ( a bit dark ik, but just remember these are examples ) or " ``River' Claw, we need to talk. `` she meowed quietly to the deputy in a serious tone " . It's important and I hope you learned a bit from those example 3. ) What to teach the apprentice, sorted by what clan you are in. For RC, teach your apprentice how to swim, how to catch fish, battle skills, show them their territory, and tell them the areas that are off-limits. For TC, teach your apprentice battle skills, how to catch prey ( and tell them how to catch birds, because birds are quick and catching birds is a skill ), show them territory ( tell them to be aware that the snakerocks have dangerous snakes that could kill them in one bite ), show them territory, and tell them the areas that are off-limits. For SC, teach them how to stalk and catch prey ( such as frogs, lizards, snakes, maybe rats and mouses ), battle skills, their territory, and tell them areas that are off-limits. For WC, teach your apprentice run quickly, battle skills, how to stay out of sight from foxes and/or badgers, how to catch prey ( bunnies and/or rabbits ), show them territory, and tell them the areas that are off-limits. Random but imagine a perfect accurate roleplay. Border and hunting patrols, mentors and deputies doing their jobs, kits only es aping the camp with permission and to actually spice up the story and not just get attention, all 4 clans are balanced out, all experienced roleplayers (Maybe some decent roleplayers as well), properly planned wars, and finally the leaders don't leave and live out all their 9 lives. Although, that's not possible because of people joining one clan, mentors, leaders, and deputies dying all the time, kits stealing and leaving camp just to get hurt, come back, and waste herbs, and all that other annoying stuff

I love being a mentor! Normally I start with showing them the territory and stalking. Then I progress them to hunting and we just do a lot of that. Then I teach them battle moves and defense moves. When I run out of stuff to teach, I take them on patrols, hunting trips, and training sessions with other apprentices. I try to organize stuff with other apprentices mentor to make rp funnier for everyone.

I think my favorite time I ever mentored was my OC Twig'Legs. He is a scrawny short boi, and i love him dearly. Anyway, I got an apprentice much to my character's dismay, who was very insecure and 'not very good at anything' they said oh so often. Can't remember their name for the life of me, but I remember taking them out to the hollow, and telling them to pretend I was an invading cat (This was after I showed them the borders and explained a few things) and to try their best to convince me to leave without violence. I agreed the first couple times, but then I didn't budge the third time around. Then I told them that 'sometimes your words won't work. Attack me the best you can' to which they followed with lunging at me. Seeing as they had no battle training before hand, I easily dodged and gave them some criticism. We tried again, and the lunge was successful, but they didn't latch on and was just loosely hanging on my back. Easily shook them off and told them to remember their claws. When they protested that they'd hurt me, I told them it would be fine. So four times we tried before they got it right. After that, we went on as normal with hunting and border patrols and battle practice. Because our leader wasn't exactly experienced, they forgot the warrior assessment and the vow of silence. But they became a warrior none the less. That was the first time my apprentice hadn't left sometime during the time

I think I'm a rlly great mentor. I've re-read every single book, and have memoried the battle moves, hunting moves, and each territory (except thunderclan). I always make sure if its night, we'l either have no session, or a short one. Along with ALWAYS showing them the territory first. As thats what mentors always do. But whenever I'm an apprentice I get the wost mentors. Once I got one who fricking taught me the hunters crouch and left it at that. For the whole roleplay. Oh wait, it wasn't EVEN the hunters crouch. It was how to stalk prey. One time, my mentor left the game. PPL PLEASE MENTOR UR APPS RIGHT!!! Although, once I had an evil mentor. Lemme tell you, THEY ARE UNDERRATED!!! It was so fun. 100% want another rp like that.

Honestly some people get so mad when they are a mentor but at the same time they always just sit in camp and do nothing before saying "This rp is so boring.". I'm normally always in an rp and don't just sit around so of course getting an app kinda sucks at points but also on another point this app can become your firend both iccly and oocly. Met one of my closest WCEU friends by being their mentor and I never regret it. But yea being a mentor is fun but if you're in an actual rp it can kinda suck mainly if there are these large, long muzzle, emo toms with their softy mollys at the size of an app who do nothing but flirt nor help, they could EASILY take an app sometimes.

Yea!! It's amazing to me how people want to do nothing but turn into statues in the clearing. I love being a mentor, it allows me to get into my ocs mind and think about how they would do their warrior duties in a way different to other ocs and thus how they would teach their apprentice to do the same. It's almost even more infuriating to me however when an app group comes about and do the same "sit there and flirt" shabam as the warriors in camp.

The most annoying part of being a apprentice is that mostly your mentor poofs before even do a training session with you or they just sit and say 'yeah this is my apprentice' and does nothing, even talk to you. I always wanted to be a good mentor, a mentor i didnt had in every role play, but with this wish im never picked as one. A oc of mine that could've been a epic mentor (Whitestorm-ish type) is GoldenCloud. And i totally everytime saw these emo large long-muzzled toms and softy long-furred shes flirting with them at every RC rp. Like, dude, why didnt you do something better? And so, if they get apprentices, they treat them like pieces of dirt, ignoring them completely. I just wanna have a good mentor, and being a good mentor, but i never got both of those. I once had a good mentor, a really good, but that was once..

I've never played or even saw WCUE, but it reminds me a lot of my experience in roleplaying WC as apprentice. Never had a mentor who mentored me until my warrior ceremony. Most of the time they didn't even trained me at all.

I've been a mentor multiple times (Mainly in Riverclan and Windclan), and my apprentices are either actually interested or are in their own rp, and don't even conversate with me. I try to find them a majority of the time but they're usually just sitting down and chatting with their friends. I one time got a very amazing mentor, conversated with me, taught me things, even showed me the borders. They had to go soon, though, and they died of Redcough. For some reason there was also a fox in the medicine den, and I don't understand why people roleplay as foxes in WCUE (unless they're NPCing foxes stealing kits or something like that), but for those who do roleplay as foxes I don't really have an issue unless they're powerplaying and whatnot. But yeah, every time I'm a mentor I do my best to my abilities, it all depends on whether or not my apprentice wants to do things with me.

I cant remember the last time i was a mentor, even starting a rp already a full grown warrior. I really wished to be a mentor now, since im more experienced at role plays.. Whenever i get a mentor, they ALWAYS poof before the first training, or they totally forget about the training/ignore me. Most of the time i never turns out a warrior when i start as a apprentice, and if i do, its probably i got really bored and that im with no-mentor. once i got a amazing mentor, that had to go before my oc turns out a warrior, but they trained me so good and looked like from the actual bookd that i never forget. Their name was Dustwing, and i was Ashpaw (Ashes and Dusts forever! I said that for them. They were really kind in the rp and out of the rp too!), in this time i turned a warrior! In the first training, i referenced so much things of PoT for them and we were having a lot of fun (I hunted a Blue Jay and a Squirrel)! I surprisingly really wish to be a mentor sometime, a mentor like Dustwing was for my lil bud Ashpaw. And i really, really, really want to do like they do in the books, showing the territory, where to go, the smells, the prey, the assesment, teaching alongside with the medicine cat about the herbs (since a warrior need to know at least what the basic herbs do and their uses, same as the medicine cat needs to know at leats basic fighting skills in case of a battle or lack of medicine cat), do everything for the apprentice never forget. but sadly im not even trained when i get a mentor- my lucky is very good i swear.

I love being a mentor! I'm an exp player so I'd like to think I'm a fairly good mentor. I like to do it properly like the books. Most mentors don't show the territory. It's sad. Especially if you haven't played in that clan and you don't know where anything is.

Honestly sometimes I wonder why I never get great roleplays with people. I’ve given probably 100’s of people great roleplays, I’m always the one to come up to them, to initiate things, and it’s only happened to me once. And GUESS WHAT- I disconnected :) I’m also a great mentor- I start off with showing them territory like in the books, train them properly, train them with other apps, etc. It’s very sad I never get that- and I’m sure some of you can relate.

I think im a decent mentor, but somehow, every time and without fail, my character always dies by the end of the rp-like?? the apprentices are cursed or smth man 💀 Wolfwhisker? Falls in the gorge bc it was dark and raining and her apprentice dragged her outta bed at like 2 am Wildsun?? Flung themselves at a rogue and fell in the river and drowned while their apprentice sobbed over their dead body Maplebreeze? Literally got killed by her old apprentice like wh 💀 and sometime the apprentice dies instead and its really awkward 'cause you just gotta drag their body into camp like 🧍"yeah this child i was responsible just got hit by a car so. uhh"

There’s nothing like a good mentor and apprentice rp and here are some reasons why I do enjoy mentoring: Your character can befriend the apprentice if they are around to become a warrior or if your relationship with your apprentice isn’t the best you may have earned yourself an enemy it’s also a good way to keep yourself busy when there’s no drama.

I don’t mentor much, but when i do i try my best. Then somehow my apprentice goes missing? Even when I’m an apprentice my mentor either abandons me, kills me or just flat out ruins my reputation. Then all the other apps get a good mentor.

I give them swimming lessons, a tour, and a hunting lesson and a stereotype lesson in one day and i immediately told the leader to make the apprentice a warrior.

I LOVE being a mentor tbh, sometimes I don't feel like it but when I do, I make sure to train my app for more than one ingame day instead of forgetting them after the first day of training. I once had a med app that I actually taught for 3 ingame days, yeah the clan died when they were the med but it was a fun experience. My favorite thing to do in wcue will probably always train an app(especially in RC or WC)

neither of them were my apps but twice in beta I had people asking me to do App-Warrior romance RPs, one claimed it was like Brambleclaw and Squirrelpaw and the other claimed it’d be a Dovewing-Tigerheart type of thing where we only become mates later and I was just there like “*MY CAT WAS A WARRIOR BEFORE YOU WERE BORN*” I’ve tried to be a mentor tho, I think I’m decent at it

(or med cat stuff) l Mentor a few in-games days later or near the first day or even the first day: *poof* and when im actually having a good rp with my mentor, (or just a good rp) either i have no time to play that day anymore, or I get disconnected. I`ve roleplayed as a noncat a lot and have had plenty of positive interactions. Of course, everyone is welcome to their own opinion, which means they can void noncats if they aren`t interested in roleplaying with them.

Just a rant I always join wcue as a warrior because I actually want to have an app to mentor, the only times I get an app though is when they are either Don't know a thing about how warrior cats works or is always correcting me without actually correcting me! Like if I am in Windclan and I teach them how Windclan cats hunt they are always like "Well Actually, The clans stalk really close and then leap just so you know ;)" And it drives me insane!

Thing is I don't mind being a mentor in WCUE the problem arises when the apprentice doesn't pay attention to what my character says or does and instead goes "I know that, I've done that before" which ruins the roleplay since I then don't know what to do after that. (I know this has to do with mentors in wcue but-) I also don't mind being the leader either UNTIL there's those kits and apps who constantly bombard me with " I'm ready to be warrior/app now ", " when can i get my warrior/app name?", " hey leader, when can I _____ ", etc. edit: when I say "the apprentice doesn't pay attention" i'm talking about the character not the player! If the player doesn't pay attention and asks something like " im sorry what did you say in rp? )) " than that's fine I can forgive it since I also have trouble paying attention. I don't know really.. Just had to get that out there. PS: Tip for new or practicing roleplayers: Hate the CHARACTER not the PLAYER if your in a rp and the character does something that's rude or uncalled for, roleplay back in annoyance but don't yell at the player for it. (sometimes I rp as a rude character and sometimes there's people who yell at me in a mean/rude manner-)

Whenever I become a mentor, what happens is: I am given an apprentice, and then I tell them training is tomorrow. Apprentice leaves instantly, wanting to train at that moment. I have only done 1 training session total per time I'm a mentor- (every time I have been a mentor, I haven't done 2 or 3 training sessions ever. Just 1 :(

The one time I was actually chosen to mentor a semi-experienced player, they left me to become a med app. We were almost done touring the territory, and then they told me they didn’t want to be a warrior. It was completely cool, and it’s something I don’t see often in an rp. Most apps either start to rp as a med app, or they’re given the med as a mentor when they are made one in rp. You just never see apps who were originally training as warriors switch to being a med app mid rp like that. Also kinda weird that a lot of people ignore how many med cats there can be in a large clan.

I was once playing my oc TigerLily, and I was mentored by someone who played a cat called Sparrowfeather I think- or maybe the suffix was fur/pelt, it was back in the very very old version, and they were an amazing mentor! Especially considering TigerLily was born blind and mentoring her would be extra difficult XD but they did everything right! I ended up creating an oc SparrowFur who’s gonna be TigerLily’s mentor in my warriors story, and I main character in the first story-
