What is your way of doing it, if you don't mind me asking?
@Uniquelyyours12 жыл бұрын
@@stephamrowski Hi Steph. I make what I call bucket dyes. I use dish pans instead of aluminum pans. I fold my item, usually a spiral or scrunch, secure with rubber bands and then mix the colors of dyes you want to use. Pour enough dye in the dish pan to cover the bottom and then a little more, depending on how big your item is, place your tied fabric into the dye, make sure it lays flat. Don't push it in just let it soak in naturally. Have other dyes ready and quickly put dye where you want it. It takes practice to get it right. I generally put a dark color on the bottom. When you are done dyeing place another dish pan that has water in it, for weight, remember Meo used a stone, and batch for no longer that 4 hours. This is muck dyeing in pure dye so it doesn't need to go longer or the dye will overtake the fabric. I hope you can understand what I'm saying here. It takes practice but you can make really gorgeous pieces if you do it right.
