The first time I heard this I had the same issue. I liked the song, the girls who are like models, the vocals. The VOCALS. Smooth, husky, haughty. But I had a hard time at first connecting with the chorus. A few more times I suddenly realized I could jam to this at a party. A few more listens after that I was like OMG THIS IS MY GROUP. Then Narin came along and dragged me away screaming to bias prison before I even had a chance to TRY to figure out the bias. Fun debut 😁😍

Meow is really going to showcase each of the members individual voices and range as an artist and vocalist that you will really enjoy and enjoy, the girl who looks like Danielle from New Jeans is Ella Gross, she was a model and actress before she was a trainee, and she is the only one that people say looks like Jennie, her aura, her look and the way she speaks are similar to Jennie. and she is also Blackpink's sister, she is close to Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo and Jennie. also Jennie herself has said that Ella is her daughter, because in a way they raised her, she was 10 when they met and became friends. If you take the two Vs and turn them upside down, you get cat ears... The Brazilian funk at the end is my favorite part. Solid debut! the girls are beautiful and have powerful voices that will surprise you a lot in another song with more singing time from each one. I loved it and WAIT. ❤👏.

Yes, Ella was previously a child model and she has been known as 'Jennie's lookalike' when she was younger, as you said. However, she is no stranger to YG, and was a trainee before going in to TBL. She was possibly considered to join the BabyMonster project, but maybe YG or TEDDY thought that she would suit this girl group better. Ella was an actress in the US (her place of birth), so she knows how to perform or project well in front of the camera. Also, just to let you know... TEDDY did not compose/produce this song. He did contribute to some of the lyrics, but he let other TBL producers take the lead. I think TEDDY was more focused on being the creative director (aka. branding for MEOVV), but I'm sure he still has an input in their musical style. He's definitely putting them in that high luxury fashion/brand image and it really does suit them to be honest.

Overall a pretty solid debut but I’m so over kpop groups just debuting and half their lyrics are abt how much money they make 😭it just feels corny and like they’re trying way too hard to appeal to the western market. Like I want more substance and an identity for their group, ik this is their first song so they have time but to debut w a song talking abt pretty much nothing does not make me look forward to their future releases. It’s sad too cause the girls seem to be very talented I just hope their concept and creative director know what they’re doing.

this is not different from any of teddy's work. is it bad? absolutely not but if u actually know teddy's work and not just from blackpink, u would know this is so teddy. Now that tbl has become independent from yg, u could tell which one was yg's work and which one is teddy's. "yg sound" originated from GD and teddy's work. they created the yg sound. sadly, yg in house producers like choice37 are just copying that and i wouldn't be surprised if yg forced them to do that cuz i know they can do so much more.
