MEOVV, pronounced in Korean as "miyao", it is spelled that way to make searching for the group easier on social media/internet, is a 5th gen K-POP girl group under TheBlackLabel and MEOVV is their first group. Currently, the most popular artists under TheBlackLabel are Taeyang of BigBang, Rosé of Blackpink, and Jeon Somi. TheBlackLabel is an affiliate at YG Entertainment and is most known because it was founded and run by Teddy. Teddy was the leader, rapper, songwriter, and producer of 1TYM, a 1st gen K-POP boy group under YG Entertainment. After 1TYM disbanded due to the members leaving to do their mandatory military service, Teddy became a full time producer at YG Entertainment. That lead to Teddy being the Main Producer & Creative Director for 2NE1 & Blackpink. When TheBlackLabel finalized their change from being a subsidiary of YG Entertainment to being an affiliate at YG Entertainment, Teddy announced that he had been developing his own girl group and TheBlackLabel confirmed that they had idol trainees that had been previously signed on as models, actresses, and dancers due to being prohibited from having idol trainees while they were a subsidiary of YG Entertainment. TheBlackLabel then started their move out of the old YG building to a new building that has nothing to do with YG Entertainment. In a recent shareholders meeting, Teddy revealed that TheBlackLabel will be independent of YG Entertainment within the next two years. At the beginning of the "Meow" music video, from left to right, the members are: Gawon, Anna, Ella, Narin, and Sooin. From what k-netizens are saying about the members... Gawon, the second revealed member. Born in 2005, Lee Ga-Won aka Chloe Lee is Korean-American (Korean decent). She was a model under an American agency and she joined YG Entertainment in 2019 as a trainee, then left YG Entertainment after being eliminated from the Babymonster project in 2021. She signed with TheBlackLabel in 2021 as a model. While under TheBlackLabel, she modeled for Adidas. Confirmed to be a TheBlackLabel trainee in 2022. Anna, the fourth revealed member. Born in 2005, Tanaka Anna is Japanese. She was a model and actress under a Japanese agency and she signed with TheBlackLabel in 2019 as an actress and model. While under TheBlackLabel, she acted in two Japanese tv shows. Confirmed to be a TheBlackLabel trainee in 2023. Ella, the first revealed member. Born in 2008, Ella Gross is Korean-American (German decent). She was a model under an American agency and she signed with TheBlackLabel in 2018 as a model and actress. While under TheBlackLabel, she modeled for Adidas and she acted in six American tv shows. Confirmed to be a TheBlackLabel trainee in 2022. Ella is the most widely known member due to her pre-debut work as a fashion model, actress, and being Blackpink's little sister. She curently has over 4 million followers on Instagram. Narin, the fifth revealed member. Born in 2007, Na Rin is Korean. Unknown when she signed with TheBlackLabel. Sooin, the third revealed member. Born in 2005, Kim Soo-In is Korean. She signed with TheBlackLabel in 2019 as an actress and dancer. Confirmed to be a TheBlackLabel trainee in 2022.

Durning the teasers they say that it stands for My Eyes Open Wide so the name of the group should be pronounced MEOW. So Lowe is correct with looking up the Korean pronuciation. Teddy is major shareholder of the BLACKLABEL which is also the agency for Jeon Somi and Rosé as well. YG Entertainment used to own close to 80% at one point but Teddy along with other investors now own most of the BLACKLABEL and YG only has around 22% shares. But that is also why they seem to have a little YG influence on them. One because of Teddy but also they were training in the YG building until 2022 when Teddy moved the BLACKLABEL out of the YG building and into their own offices. Ella which is the youngest member of the group is known like a little sister to the BLACKPINK members. She has been seen on live streams with them. Gawon was a YG trainee and is suspected to has been a part of the BAEMON project before leaving and going to the BLACKLABEL. Had Gawon stayed we might have seen her debut with BABYMONSTER instead but she might have made the move since YG was being serious about debuting only 5. Teddy had been saying about three years ago that he needed one more member to complete his group and it would make sense that he would pick up one of the YG trainees especially if it was from BABYMONSTER. But the group has so much potential and you could say that it is another sister group to BLACKPINK. Some people consider them to be the true sister group of BLACKPINK and the one that is their successor. While it is true that they do share a lot of DNA, I think that Teddy would rather it be a new legacy since he wants his agency to be independent to YG.

Ella (the girl in the beggining who said "meow") is Blackpink's friend since she was a kid, the Blackpink girls call her as "sister or daughter" and she was very famous when she was on Blackpink lives and photos because the fans started to call her as "Mini Jennie" and even Jennie herself called her "daughter"
