It may be that Mephisto will NOT gain speed on a third attack. This can be seen at the 5:50 mark of mobile's latest drop. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5qygpp3iriWj5ofeature=shared It appears that the roll out of the Mephisto kit was not complete. The footage currently cerculating may not be accurate to what the final product is designed to do.

I don't see any issues with Mephisto rework. We put a LOT into getting these DD characters, I want it to have a big impact when I finally get there. And if people that spend WAY more than me get there first and have that advantage, I'm super fine with that. I prefer that to working for literally months (takes some ppl the whole year or more to get a DD character) and it's meh. Scopely don't have the collective brainpower nor competitive actual game-time experience that the playerbase has, so they'll always have a hard time covering all bases and possible cheese counters for these characters without making them so powerful they break the game (they had to adjust Apocalypse too when he started getting unlocked due to Emma cheese counters). Having them figure it out once a character is unlocked and "beta tested" by the playerbase isn't optimal, but it's better than putting months into getting a character and it being a dud.

The end game toon should not be able to get one shotted by a team like cabal... Sure, krakens spend alot to get mephisto only to see him go POOF after the first hit would piss me off too.. I support this change. Remember that krakens PAY for us F2P to play this game, if they leave, this game is dead in the water. Sooner or later everyone will be able to get mephisto and krakens will enjoy whatever new toy is out that time..Its a marathon, not a race. If spending tons of $ doesn't even get you more than ONE defense win.. Who wouldnt be pissed?

That's because Mephisto is mainly an offensive toon (as all DD unlocks started as to begin with), and they literally made Cabal (which is the strongest offensive CC team to date) synergize further with Masters of Evil, which already had a top tier character in Kang. Skrull could be beat back then by MoE + Apoc, and that was fine. Needing the best team in the mode + the best synergy + season amps to be beaten isn't a bad thing. It locks the opponent into using Cabal, so they can't use it elsewhere. It's strategically useful. If the krakens thought that Mephisto sucked on CC defense, they could always use him as the ultimate offense that he already is. You know, actually think. But how dare they need to actually think when going against other players?

@@javaughndouglas3641 My point in its entirety is an end game toon like mephisto, which if you arent patient and willing to shell out enormouse amts of money for should be viable and good for ALL game modes, offense OR defense. And be pretty much top tier no matter his placement, so.. if i spent 10k+ to get a toon thats end game i would consider the end all be all for current content to suck at defense... Should I be nonchalant about it and shrugg? If i knew he didnt perform well in that mode, than why would i race to get him with my credit card?

​@@alexl.8748And my point is that even top 1 characters are allowed to be beatable on release, especially if the only thing that can beat them are the absolute top end of characters with additional buffs. Doom could still lose to BO on release, you just needed to have your Thanos on Striker and max him out. Didn't change the fact that Doom was still objectively the best everywhere including the same Arena. Dormammu was beatable on release by the Eternals speed set, Ultron was beatable by the Vision Tech team, Apoc was beatable by Kang+ Horsemen, Skrull could be beaten by Apoc combos in Crucible and Arena. There has never been a character that was actively designed to be unable to be oneshot on defense, because defense doesn't think. Mephisto can still trivialise all content in the game, just like the others did. There's nothing wrong with making him beatable, because the others were.
