Ostrava died in battle with me before this quest. And Bior the dragon got him too. When I started the quest line she just passed these two and I had no problem

Biorr and Ostrava both died outside the nexus before I started Meph's questline (in 1-4) and I still was able to finish Meph's quest and get the foe ring. She just skipped over them. I think as long as you complete Ostrava's questline, its fine if he dies naturally. Biorr died on the dragon, and that was also considered acceptable. So just because either of them arent in the nexus, that doesnt mean your quest is ruined.

You can still obtain the foe ring even if Biorr and Ostrava are dead and you can also do Mephistopheles quest line late in the game as well, you don't need to kill yurt right away.

Curious, once you complete the final kill, collect the Foe's Ring and aggro Mephistoheles; can you de-aggro her via Thief's Ring and then go pay to "Seek Forgiveness" to set her neutral again? The reason I ask is because she can be used for de-leveling via soul suck and I was thinking of keeping her around for that purpose if possible.

Little correction regarding OG Demon's Souls: you don't have to kill all NPCs within the Nexus. I killed Biorr as soon as I opened his cell in Boletaria, and I still got all the rewards and the side-quest was successfully completed.

I would really recommend only doing this quest on NG+. Do all the pure white tendency side quests on NG and then before going to NG+ kill everyone. This has much less impact for your overall gameplay.

Mephistopheles' Armor is the Thief Set, which can be found in Tower of Latria 3-1 in Pure White World Tendency, after you free Lord Rydell. I misspoke when I said she drops her set. Yes absolutely. Once you’re in pure black character tendency (which is needed for this questline) it would require at least another 2 playthroughs to get back to pure white CT. And NG+ gets harder each time you start a new cycle.

This sounds like a bug. I've had someone tell me she didn't give them anything before attacking, but then they paid for forgiveness at the statue in The Nexus and spoke to her again. They got the Foe's Ring that time.

Yo I was able to get the ring by doing just half (not even) of her quest. So in short if you just need the RING (Foes ring) for the trophy make sure to keep Yuria alive, some of the npc (1 or 2) like patches and have pure black character tendency 😉 you just missing some of her reward. For me the most important one are the ring (from Yuria) and the colorless soul from (patches).

You carry over everything but keys. World and character tendency carries over. All NPCs reset to their original state and location, so don't seek forgiveness if you don't need it.

Nope it doesn‘t count. You need to kill his human form, just need to do another full playtrough because of that. And your character tendency as well as your world tendency stays the same for NG+

I think you can back up your save to the cloud, purchase spells, restore the save, then purchase more spells with the same boss souls as before. I didn't personally use this method, as normally you will have to play through 3 times to get all spells and miracles, but I think that works.

Nah, it's pretty easy to control since there's a ton of players online right now. Easy enough to hop into the Demon's Souls Discord server and ask people to invade you so you can kill them or for you to invade and die.

Hmmmm. I've had people tell me about this bug with other targets before. Someone said that they asked for forgiveness using the statue at the base of the nexus (the statue you spawn in front of if you die in the nexus). This resets Mephistopheles and might make her realize that Urbain is dead. Otherwise, you're going to have to try again in your next NG cycle.

Mmmm that's really up to you. This questline is based on having pure black character tendency, which is separate from world tendency. So it doesn't really matter.

Yuria doesn't drop the Foe's Ring, so you have to wait for Mephistopheles to ask you to kill her. Once she's dead, you speak with Mephistopheles again and she gives you the ring as a reward.

Yea you can kill NPCs up until the last moment of the game. Just homeward out of the final area. There's even an Archstone on the beach before the final boss.

Once you kill him, he's dead. NPCs don't respawn in this game. That said, it seems like on the PS5 version of the game, she keeps the contracts coming and skips people if they're already dead, at least according to folks in the comments.

Have to do it in order. You need to kill each target after Mephistopheles asks you to. She won't ask you to kill Yuria until last.

I couldn't fix the error, be carefull when you are invading others, thats was what triggered the glitch. All the NPC came back to the world, and they could never return to the nexus. I had to start a NG+++ to complete the quest. Thanxs for the video, very helpfull.

Hi Johnny, I got a question. Once Mephistopheles appears and starts giving you assassination contracts, do you have to maintain Pure Black Character Tendency? For example, if I kill St Urbain as part of her contract, can I go back to progressing in the story and perhaps lose my Pure Black Character Tendency before I continue with the contracts and take out Freke?

I believe she'll disappear, but I've never actually tried it. Sorry I don't have a more concrete answer. I do know that if you have Pure White World Tendency in Shrine of Storms, Satsuki will appear for the Makoto questline. But if you move to White or Neutral, he goes away until you go back to Pure White. I'd imagine that Mephestopheles and character tendency works similarly, but I can't be certain.

I did this and got to new game plus, but kept spawning at the very last boss location (the boss that can steal your soul levels.. I forget his name). I finally used a stone to get back to the nexus and EVERYONE is still dead lol. Even the lady that I level up from is not there. Only the storage guy and the merchant. Did the game glitch out or is that how pure black tendency goes? I just wanted the pvp ring lmao.

If you start ng+ you have to kill phalanx to get the maiden

But where is her actual set; the Chest, Hands, and Legs ? It was available in the Original Demon’s Souls but I cant remember where I got it from, unless its not available in the Remake 😖 Edit: NVM it seems its still available its called the Rogue set & it seems I picked it up in 3-1 when Latria was Pure White

Dying in body form does not affect your character tendency. It drops the world tendency of that world one point.

So if I want Foe Ring, I can kill every character from the list, except Yuria, and Mephistopheles still gonna show up and just ask me to kill Yuria as she skips everyone? Very good video btw thank you

Im currently white character tendency, one black phantom away from pure white CT. Problem is, I killed all 5 black phantoms. Does my character tendency carry over to NG+? And also, can I still get the Ally's Ring on NG+, since im missing only 1 black phantom. Or do I have to kill all 5 of them again in Ng+? Thanks

@@SweetJohnnyCage I tried but i found a solution, if you kill Ostrava in 1-1 Boletaria after she gives you the order to do so, you also have to kill his red Phantom form in 1-4, that solved it and i Platinumed Demon's Souls Remake yesterday ❤

I didn’t kill astrava my self She told me to kill him but I never found him. I returned to her and she skipped him. ? I got lucky

He probably died in 1-3. He can get into trouble even after you rescue him from the red eye knights.

I never played the original demon souls but I played all the dark souls even know that has nothing to do with anything just pointing out im not a noob with these games but this world tenendacy is confusing as hell to me for some reason. On a side note her hit list are like all the characters I like lol im trying to get to pure white in the plague area so I can kill garl vinlands phantom but I'm having a hard ass time

Did you perhaps find a solution? In my case he just disappeared, i got the task to kill him but i cant find him nowhere.. maybe yurt has killed him before me

The quest will just skip patches. You only need to kill Yuria for the ring and trophy.
