When I was just starting out with digital art I used to ignore stuff a lot like “No I don’t need to shade” or “I don’t need to do some lighting” but as I got better and more used to digital art I started to do lighting and shading. I still sometimes ignore stuff now like not flipping the canvas or drawing that little sun thing to remind me were the light is coming from but I’m definitely going to start doing those things because it makes my art look a lot better whenever I do it and there’s something wrong. I also found out a lot o f new stuff I could with this video so that was great. Definitely going to keep watching your videos

For tip 2 tho, be careful if youre doing something a bit more dramatised since focusing too much on making something perfectly composed may take away some of the energy of a piece, if thats the goal (e.g a really cartoony/ exaggerated/ harsh/ abstract art style) I found myself being overly meticulous with my art even tho i was going for a more chaotic/ dynamic look at times and leaning too heavily into that method can be detrimental, but at the end of the day, use this technique when it fits your objective/ style, dont go too ott, but ig that applies to any art tip in general

I did think of redrawing multiple times, I do it very infrequently and it always helps 😅 I'm usually kind of impatient and don't do thumbnails.

I really like Mint Ice Cream, but when I go to places with mixing flavors I like to add chocolate fudge. Also these tips seem really helpful, gonna try them on my next big piece.

cool! I liked the video: video feedback: I didn't really think about it being off-center personally until you pointed it out: The gray youtube plate did stand out more as it broke the color palette for me, not a big deal tho. I always enjoy the atmosphere of the decor/scene you set up in these sorts of videos. in section 5, "black and white", it looked a bit weird when one part of the video had just a black void (although maybe that's to challenge the viewer). On the tips: I think they are good! good basic easily tested advice: one thought on "take a break" is that I think it's important to either rest properly/not overstimulate yourself. When drawing, taking a short nap, or going for a walk in nature. I also like doing pushups or stretches when I feel stuck, getting the blood pumping. not really an art tip, but honestly, a huge thing that affects my art quality is to actually focus on the art, and to create a good environment where I don't constantly switch between things, or have noise in the background. It takes my brain 25 minutes to get into "concentration" mode, where it's properly warmed up and I do much better work. Related to this, Multitasking zaps my brain's creativity very quickly. Doing 1 hour of drawing and multitasking takes like 5 times as much energy as just drawing 1 hour with calm music. and the work is far better when I focus properly. I've learned to recognize that for me, multitasking may mean that I'm unclear about what I want to do, or that I'm tired and need a break before trying again. (my favorite ice cream taste is raspberry sorbet. My absolute favorite ice cream is a mixture of all sorts of nuts, with nougat on top. but i can't remember the name of it. I ate it at gelatoteca Suso, an ice cream vendor in Venice.)

Omg this is such good advise, I never thought about checking my artwork vertically, also I love how your art has become more expressive in your shapes and character designs. Like when I saw your ocs I was omg they look so different from the last time I saw them. And I’m so impressed. This has made me want to practice my artwork even more, thanks

This video was so fun! I seriously adored your shop ad???? so fun??? Something I've yet to try but I've seen others do is a variation on the horizontal canvas flip, where you set up a symmetry ruler in the middle of your canvas and start drawing on one side, and then the horizontal flipped version is just on the other side! That way you can compare in real time and also draw on either side. Might be extra nice for people who use Photoshop, as I know PS doesnt have the nicest canvas flip option.

The drawing a thing several times I always do in traditional, and I always end up damaging the paper from erasing too much 😭 I got aphantasia so I have to see things in paper to then fix anatomy and perspective issues because I cannot do much in my head. So I end up redrawing something up to 20 times before it looks ok. That's why I put off drawing sometimes, the amount of repetition I gotta do to achieve something decent exhausts me. I can't even develop a 'visual gallery' to help me out because I can't picture things, just blobs.... frustrating...

Instead of making a new layer, on your iPad under Accessibility > Display and Text Size > Color Filters, if you turn on Color Filters on you can set you display to monochrome. So you don’t have to go through the menu to do this every time, you can set it as a shortcut to triple click your home button under Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut and just check Color Filter. Make sure you set it to monochrome first. After you do this, all you have to do to make your display monochrome is to triple click your home button.

Would you guys say the difference between the images in the thumbnail is step 9? I feel like I do everything else, but something is still off… My work never feels “polished”
@fikamonster2564
@fikamonster2564 Жыл бұрын
In my view, polish is a lot of fixes and skills that add up to improve the image: when you are skilled, its easier to polish it and improve it, but even as beginners polishing adds up Without knowing you in particular, i would say that the main think is to practise these tips and habits, as over time you dont have to think as hard about all of them, and your art work should be improved. In the beginning applying these can feel a bit awkward in my experience, as your brainpower goes from the drawing to using these tips. Keep going, be patient and diligent, and you should improve!

Hi there I want to become the best animator but I don't have that much money to go to cal arts or any big college and even if I take a loan my mom will not allow me to go abroad. So can I learn to make Disney level animation at home or should I take an online college course. Is it possible to learn from any top animators at the same fees of college. Please help I can't really sleep just by thinking about all this if you'll advise me it'll mean a lot.
