Another awesome recap video. As an officer candid (Air Force), I was given a room to myself at MEPS. Is it the same on the Navy side? On the depth perception test, take your time - relatively. Focus on the circles - and it should be clear. But I found that jumping quickly through it was not helpful. I ended up with near-perfect score. But I did hear a lot of candidates failed on the spot. It’s worth focusing on the circles and just going through it with intent. It was clear, but rather subtle.

As an "Officer Candidate" going through MEPS, I got a room for the night by myself. The Enlisted had to share.

@FaithByFlight, great to see that it is consistent across the Armed Forces. It makes sense.

I’m pretty set on pursuing aviation, but I’m worried about meeting the vision requirements. Do you know about getting LASIK surgery and how that would work?
@FaithByFlight4 жыл бұрын
I had PRK done and had no issues. Just need a waiver and your correction documents from whoever you get the surgery from.

@@FaithByFlight Any recommendations on what to do/keep track of while doing PRK or LASIK e.g., what one should ask the docs, etc? I'm doing my research as well, Airwarriors, r/Navy, NAMI guidelines, but would appreciate your insight as well. Thanks in advance.

@@nathannguyen2041 Get every piece of paperwork you can. Pre-op and post-op paperwork for the PRK/LASIK is super important. As far as what to ask the doc, if its the one doing the PRK/LASIK, just ask about recovery time. Once youre under knife, cant do anything about the end product. One other thing to be sure of is that your eyes can handle PRK/LASIK. Usually you can do one or the other.

@@FaithByFlight on this topic do you know what the deal is with mostly okay vision with glasses? My recruiter seemed mostly unphased by it just wondered if anyone would give trouble in MEPS.

how old are you?....if you're comfortable in sharing. Rather, how old were you at the time you commissioned?
@FaithByFlight4 жыл бұрын
I commissioned a little over a year after finishing college on time.

@@FaithByFlight Thanks for such a swift reply. In your opinion, does age matter. I would be in the 25-29 range but my heart is pretty set on going Navy. Will this affect me in any way? I have heard that people get called "old ladies/men" and such but nothing that actually would be a true detriment.

@@DIAbycmgm Wont do anything at all. We had a prior service guy who was a Chief who was 32.

@@FaithByFlight Whats this age restriction I hear about that you can't be older than 26 by the end of your flight training? (need waivers for older?) is that not a thing

Memory stuff for what?

@@FaithByFlight in your video you say they did see basic stuff which included coordination, your memory, etc

@@spenserneel2906 It was basic memory. They would either show you a set of numbers or words and you would have to recall them. Super simple.
