A lots of off targets from ota. Also His defense seems to be different on this particular day. He usually follows a quite tight distance, but today he is giving a lot of space.

Very instructive bout with a wide variety of actions and dynamic footwork! Great choice. Not sure about the row call at 6:17 though. Seems like attack in prep by Ota, per your other videos on the subject 🤔

This bout was from a few years ago now, a bit before the Rio olympics so I think the call was in line with conventions at the time. (I'm sure you remember how strong the withheld attack was)

It's a bit close, but I think even today that would still be Mepsteads ROW as he doesn't really stop or hesitate to my eye. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's not as egregious as some of the janky ROW calls from this era.
