Hense how he has supernatural powers lol No one else would have survived that dive into the ice head first! As well as his endurance. He's gotta have magical powers. Anyways, merab really is a good dude. He shows how It's possible to be honest and humble, while having confidence as well at the same time. Last point, I really feel merab could have already been batamweight champ if Aljo went up a weight division sooner. They could have easily worked that out. Especially since Aljo was so vocal and clear about how much he was tired of the weight cut at batamweight so he could have talked with merab and let him know he'll move up and give merab his deserved shot at the batamweight division. I'm surprised they didn't consider this situation?

Such a humble fighter, his channel is great, gives insight into his personal life and Georgian culture. I think a lot of people sleeping on Georgian mma talent, big Judo and Wrestling and Sambo programs. Also thanks for Demetrious for bringing more notice to the lighter divisions which are very exciting, I usually watch Japanese regional mma like DEEP, Pancrase, Shooto for all the lighter weight mma competition but Demetrious is one of the few smaller western mma fighters that has GOAT status(yeah I'm a biased 137lb BJJ guy,lol)

@@Sergio-dh5qh judo is good for mma and makhachev is example of that. Old school judo is what's Khabibs father based his system on . I think there's a reason Khabib father favourite art was judo. Merab also clarified he was not well versed in judo footsteps and trips which makhachev uses extensively in mma. Merab also mentioned he took down guys in gym easily using judo but the jujitsu guys would take his back. His coach might have not taught him judo newaza in detail and that reflected in his approach to judo. Although merabs base is judo but he himself admitted he uses one move extensively . At best he is a mediocre judoka and what's funny is merab being a mediocre judoka was able to take down and dominare an Olympic champion lmao

I met Merab twice in vegas last year and he spent a good 10min each time talking and giving training tips. Really awesome humble guy. I asked him how he got such good cardio and he just pulled me in close and went "it's the girls man, all the girls" 😂
