I remember those type of Mercedes back in my youth in down town Chicago, interesting car. Road hard put away wet for 66,000 miles , but knowing you it will be mint in know time. Good job getting it running.

It was wild in downtown Chicago back in the 80s, cocaine in the bars crazy people. But lots of those type of cars. Needless to say I’m in my mid70s so I can remember those days. Not with cocaine , I just saw a lot of it being tossed around.

When it gets down to 95 I feel cool and stop sweating. 😆 I'd get my money back on those hose clamps. That's amazing that you got the thing running this good. I think you said it hadn't run in two years. Is that body kit worth saving?

Drink a bottle of wine and save the cork for that fuel hose! or get a short piece of 1/2" copper pipe and solder a cap on it, they fit into those hoses pretty closely then clamp it

Toss that set of hose clamps in the trash, get yourself a cheap needle-nose locking pliers and slide a 2" section of fuel line over each jaw - it's a cheap clamp that will work on everything from a 1/4" vacuum line up to nearly a radiator hose. Also, it looks like there's something wedged in the right rear coil spring - got something weird going on there?
