Thank you so much for taking the time to show and tell about the bits and pieces of the W169 Merc engine compartment. Having previously owned two B200 petrol CVT's and you have provided good advice on starter problem issues that I had encountered. I'm going to look at a 2005 A160 classic model, petrol manual with 32k miles and service history. Besides the basic checks, what other things to look for? Strangly the car was made and first registered in 2005 but it was registered with DVLA in 2008.

Hi Sevan Motors FORRERA, Thank you for the work of your channel, very much appreciated. You said at the beginning of this video that it only took you about 1/2 an hour to remove the front end to this Mercedes. Is it possible that you can show us how to do this. It will help me as I have just purchased two of these Mercedes and would like to get to the motors your way rather than trying to reach areas to replace parts or even clean the throttle body. Cheers Alan

I admit I made a few mistakes in the video, like I said bonnet instead of bumper, and lock sensor instead of switch. Also it took more than half an hour to remove all the parts, but less than an hour.

Hi Sevan, I have A170 W169 2006, and since 15000 kms ago I started hearing clunk noise when driving over speed bumps (despite of speed). In the beginning it was only in the moment when I am getting off the bump but now it appears immediately when tyre hit the bump. One mechanic said front shock absorber is rusty and it comes frome there. The other one was not sure. I don’t want to invest hell of money and not being sure for the reason. It is somehow metal noise coming from the front. I can also hear it sometimes when steering at low speeds and very rare when braking. These two started appearing recently. It has 215000km and shock absorbers were never replaced Thank you

I would really like to have the wiring colour diagram for the rear lights. My wife's A180 has encountered the tail lights and reverse lights to stop working following changing the computer and ECU unit. Car runs great, just absent of a few lights at the rear, and many lights illuminated on the dash! I will get to the end of this one day.

@@forrera168 Hi, it's a petrol. I checked the intake manifold, it's dirty but it still moves. Engine idles roughly, but stays within 750 to 800rpm. I also checked the ECU data, and whenever I try to accelerate, the engine load goes up to 99/100. Changed the coolant fluid, temp's fine. Changed the oil this summer. Alternator died and the belt slipped, had the shop change it, except they messed it up so I had to it there again with a second battery to power it up. Reached a point where nearly all the electrical assistance (steering, ABS, etc) stopped working which is pretty scary. I thought the spark plug could've gone bad but it's tough to access them to check. The heavy fuel smell leads me to bad fuel injector seal I'm guessing?

Hi , thank you, the video is excellent. I have a170 w169, automatic, works very well although it's 2005 . Consumption is good also. Recently I've started to hear a rattling sound inside cabin while going over small bumps, on the right side (my steering wheel is on the left). @forrera168

If your A200 is non turbo and petrol then it should look like the one in this video. I haven't done a video of replacing the timing chain yet, if can wait . You'll need to remove the inlet manifold and rocker cover to get to the chain, then remove the hydraulic tensioner and camshaft. Now you'll need to split the one of the chain links and join the new chain from both sides. Turn the engine slowly until the new chain is on, and the old one is out.

Greetings quick question. My B200 has a speed limit and doesnt go beyond 50km/h. The diagnosis scanner detected the steering angle sensor and right wheel speed sensor issues only. What could be the problem to the acceleration limit?
@forrera168
@forrera168 Жыл бұрын
Try and simple things first. Pump up the tyres to the specified pressure, check if the front wheel tracking is correct, check if the steering wheel is straight (you'll need a scanner to zero degrees for this process). Also usually if you have one wheel speed sensor fault code, persistent, that mean it's either the sensor or the wheel bearing, because the sensor reads the speed from the bearing.

For the first instance it might look difficult, but if you have the right tools and the knowledge then it will be easy. Put it this way, if I can do it you can do it. All you need is a long 15mm straight spanner, specific for tensioner, and a long screw driver to rout the belt.
