hoffentlich passiert auch was beim kriechmodus am getriebe der funktioniert genauso miess wie bei der ersten automatik im actros präzise rangieren ist unmöglich im BDF betrieb ( wechselbrücke) und toll wäre wenn die assistenzsyteme auch bei schnee funktionieren würden dan wäre ein traumauto.

It all comes down to experience. The company I work for has some of these and the drivers have said it takes time to get used to, you do a lot more 'monitoring'. This truck can make driving easier and more comfortable when you spend enough time with it.

Amazed it has taken so long, well now they are here (rear view cameras) expect them on all lorry's trucks) in the future. MB has in the past had some of the worst mirrors for causing the massive blind spot that normal mirrors create so this system will be welcomed by MB drivers (IMO) The camera stalks may well swivel to close in should they be hit by a branch etc ?

Ja der neue Actros ist schon richtig super, ist aber eigentlich keine wirkliche Überraschung. Wenn man bedenkt wie viel Kohle Mercedes in die weiter Entwicklung von Motoren, Getriebe und vieles mehr investiert. Für mich ist ganz klar Mercedes mit einer der besten Automobilhersteller der Welt.

simple: THE US DOESN’T WANT THESE TRUCKS RUNNING ON AMERICAN ROADS, lest people starts lobbying against the 15yr import ban. These trucks become hot, MAC along Peterbilt and the likes, will go out of business. Not to mention its technology and safety features, will be deemed “a distraction to the driver.”

The two comments above me are comment. Yo Mimito is correct that if these European trucks were brought to the US, they would put domestic truck manufacturers out of business. Just look at the disruption that Volvo alone has caused in the US. Every truck company in the US wants a Volvo truck because they are easy to drive for beginners. Petr Klic is correct that a certain aspect of European trucks is trash, and that aspect is... speed! European trucks are simply not built for high top speed. In America, there are states where trucks are permitted to go up to even 75 mph. European trucks are designed to safely drive up to 60 mph. Trying to do 75 mph would be like trying to commit suicide, but I'm pretty sure if European truck manufacturers designed trucks for the American market, they would develop trucks that can do 75 mph no problem.

@Rawler94 im not sure about your comment either its 2018 a few days ago humanity did something that we never done before. Scientists have made a camera that can record faster then the speed of light and filmed a light ray splitting. I don't know where you are looking when it comes to progress but everything is constantly evolving and improving. Flights to Mars planned in the near future, electric cars getting more advanced, not to mention the military of some countries. And it includes medical history too, yes we can't heal everything but we can more then last year and this is going on and on, the average age of humans is rising from year to year just because medicine is advancing. There where time where you got to 40 years old if you were lucky. These days that's a young age to die. You have to be more careful when in comes to being up to date, like I said the world is moving on and won't be waiting for you.

Technology may be advancing itself but its taking away the ability for people to do things themself. So many skilled crafts and jobs are been lost to technology aaaaas it takes over skilled labour. Soon we will find ourselves that dont require a driver which will only benefit the owner and the manufacturee. We are gradually been made redundant. Jobs years ago were companies with high numbers of employers, now we have robots and automated systems to take the placeof a human. How anyone can think this is a benefit is beyond me. People are loosing their common sense to technology as they have their heads glued to facebook etc. It turns you into a sponge, accepting everything as a benefit without really seeing or understanding the future effects it will have. Technology comes and goes, its value is meaningles. Good craftmanship can last for many years to come, even a 100 years or more and its value is always more. Its not living in the past, its enjoying what you have without needing to rely on technology to simply carry out even a simple task

Oh gott ja, das ist der einzige Lkw Hersteller wo es solche Probleme gibt. Das habe ich bei keinem anderen Lkw bisher gehabt. Ich bin Springer und wir haben ausser Renault alles vertreten. Die Sitzposition finde ich im Actros auch nicht so gut.

the same Story for how use the displays! the same that in class A, with a Touch Pad close to the body. And do You know where You can put it? Do You Remember the armrest of the gearbox ? As I have in my Tuck now. Well if Mercedes go back to their fantastic armrest of the gearbox, and in the side of it, You can put a. Touch Pad with which the Driver can work on the displays as He is using a computer mouse. And with voice system as "Hi Mercedes" or "Hi Google"
