If you're trying to replace the blower it can be done without removing the glove compartment. Simply unscrew the bottom screws mentioned in this video and another bottom screw behind those 3. There are only 4 screws down there so you can't miss it. After that you can unscrew the blower and slide a new one in.

I looked at mine, it needs just cleaning out and figuring out what is rubbing on the fan blade, and yes, it was all screws on the bottom, after you pulled off the vanity panel from what I am seeing. I'll let you know when I get it taken care of if you want. Ml 320

when you added the coolant back after the replacement of the thermostat, did you have the air conditioner on and set to high with the heat turned on?

My local repair garage (no merc dealership) they installed thermostate, they did say let run on heat for long time but didn't still produce heat they can't figure it out. I dont know if the put a/c on. Is putting a/c on critical? If they did do that what else could be issue? I seen w163 has heater door actuator which moves on/off I dont know where's its on the w164 I wanted to check it, or any other suggested please desperate from here -35° lol! Please...

@@SukiSinghEdmonton doing what I described is crucial. Air pockets will be in the heater coils and will not produce heat. If you are not sure if they did the bleed procedure as described you will never get heat. What you can do... Got to a place that will do a coolant flush. They will hook up a machine and evacuate every drop of coolant and air bubbles out and fill it with coolant. .

Where is the fuse for the blower fan? Where do you check it at? I used a test light to see if there was power going to the blower motor and there wasn’t any power going to it.

One of my problems, is that the motor works, but I get no hot air, any idea? also a 06 ML350, I know heater valve can be a problem, but I ve heard this SUV does not have it, any idea?

Replace the thermostat, mine did the same thing, even though all of the rest of the cooling systems were replaced, flushed out, etc., They fail by staying open too far when warmed up, but still close right back down when they are cool, so not going to give you a major malfunction from working, at least as far as the engine is concerned. When I replaced mine, it did slightly lower the running temps of the vehicle, but blowing hot air into the interior big time. I am getting this, clean out the motor as part of the preventative maintenance at this stage. Mine has been noisy since I had it, going for the fix based upon the inspiration from the video, ml 320.

I have a 2011 E350 , need to replace fan motor it , chirps like a bird lol what years are they removed the same way ? in other words does a 2008 remove and replace the same as a 2011?

the removal is very similar to almost exact for this part. Differences are usually the star wrench sizes usually.

No, the fan wouldn't work at all. It is possible that your sensors in the vents are registering the temp incorrectly and disabling the fan

I had the same issue. Turn off car, pull out key, 5 seconds later the fan came on by itself for about a minute and then turned off. That is possible. These motors have a motor control circuit board mounted inside and get power. There can be corrosion on the circuit board or something else that can cause the controller to turn the fan on without command from the car. Swapped my fan and have not had it happen again for a few weeks.

2006 ml350. The reason why I didn't put the year is because I work on enough of these to know that it covers a range of them. Limiting it to a model and year when it spans multiple years and models isn't best serving.
