I like that Mercedes tries make EVs a little more fun and not just everything completely silent. I think EVs worst enemy is the complete silence because i hate rattle sounds and they become alot more present when u can't hear any engine sound.

@@ivo3840 U've never sat in a vehicle that makes small strange noises? Im prepared to fend of the pitchforks but you can literally hear how the plastic moves and squeeks in a brand new tesla. Every car becomes a "used" car eventually and it all comes down to what and where the rattles occur. Ive always bought German cars to ensure i get premium interior quality and even then, some thing can start to rattle with enough time.

Electric motors seem to have so much difficulty making power at high speed. This thing will do 60 faster than some supercars but will top out at 120mph and lose 50% of its battery while doing so.

The basic flaw of all these things. They’re not performance cars, they’re city cars that do 0-60 quickly. That’s pretty much it. Plus that stupid Star Trek sound is so gimmicky when you launch the car lol. I’d never think Mercedes would do something that tacky, leave that to the shitty Teslas.

Yes, and this one is pretty good compared to others. I was impressed with 11.5 seconds for an electric car. Of course, ICE cars with 100hp less do this time, but still most struggle to reach 200kmh.

Tesla solved this problem with their plaid powertrain (so did Rimac, but you can't really compare this Mercedes to a multi-million-dollar hypercar). These legacy automakers are just behind on the technology.

Heavy car, lots of power/torque and high speeds = huge amounts of tire particulate pollution. This is a problem that is essentially worse than tail pipe emissions on new cars and EVs are the worst due to all the weight

Like you know the countless mega SUV’s etc. I mean the GLS 63 has around the same amount of power and weighs more than the EQE. Even the GLE 63 still weighs 10kg more than the EQE and again has similar power. If I looked through KZbin, would you have left the same comment on every video about either of those cars?

@@SusieSmart if I had time yes. My point however is that EVs are just so horribly heavy compared with their ice alternative. BMW are bringing out a new hideous super SUV that is hybrid and it weighs in at 2.7T so once you load it up it is well over 3T's. New c63s weighs 2.1 tons! Old C class weighs 1.6 tons. Thus if you compare like for like, class for class my original point stands: too much weight

@@KingofInterns my EV weighs less than 100kg more than it’s petrol equivalent, I wouldn’t say that’s “horribly heavy” in comparison. The Mercedes EQC is only 230kg heavier than the GLE 400d and is actually 160kg lighter than the GLE 350de PHEV. If you look at the Tesla Model 3 LR and compared it to a 330d xDrive (chosen as it gives similar performance) then the weight difference is just 91kg … so again not “horribly heavy” in comparison. As for tyre wear, the tyres on my current EV are lasting longer than any petrol or diesel car I’ve ever owned and I’m certainly not a gentle driver either.

@@KingofInterns compare like for like then …. You mentioned the XM, it’s the same size as the X7 and the M50i version of that weighs 2,455kg and the M50d version oddly weighs 20kg less at 2,435kg. Of course the COG of the XM will be lower due to the placement of the battery. Ironically it would have probably weighed less if it was a BEV, I means the Model X Plaid weighs the same 2,455kg as the M50i. So based on your logic the M50i and Model X Plaid should have identical tyre wear, which generally isn’t the case due to the smoother nature of EV drivetrains. There’s also the reduction in particulates from the brake pads in the Model X compared to the X7. Granted the weight of the new C63S is crazy but that’s cause Mercedes decided to go down the hybrid route. Like for like the weight difference between the W205 and W206 E43 is 235 kg and the C220d is 270kg heavier in C220d form. It’s the price you pay for extra safety and technology I suppose. Should I assume my tyres lasting longer in a heavier and faster EV compared to my previous diesel is just a fluke?

I usually have no opinion when it comes to removal of engine sound with electric cars. I genuinely couldn’t care less even though I love cars and racing; but what in the world was that launch sound? Reminds me of the start of a Mario Kart race or the 3 seconds before the start of a match in Rocket League. I’d rather it be completely silent than that. I’m assuming that there is probably a setting that can turn off that noise however.
