in order to gain access the rear surround speakers, and the factory sub woofer...ALSO
not only that but from there you can also access your 3rd brake light, therefore allowing you to fix or replace the part..rather then paying someone else to do it....save the money and keep it in your pocket where it belongs....

NOTE: For Coupes it's a bit different to remove that upper corner piece before you can get the shelf out. You pop open that plastic Airbag cover and underneath there is a torx screw you need to undo first. After that the process is pretty much to same for unclipping and pulling that piece out. Then you will be able to access the rear shelf

they wont go off but u will get airbag light error. so make sure u disconnect and wait 20mins for all power to discharge

@@nixpainnixgain check the seat belt case ... its either one of the seat belt cases or tourrear deck panel... most likely the seat belt assembly that holds the belt inside and retracts ...

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ I just took a look in the back of my car and these parts and realized that it would be a way more difficult job to do the same thing in a w204 coupe.. not only the seatbelt cases, it‘s also the armrest on each sides which are clicked in different parts of the interior in the back ..I‘m a bit desperate tbh There is also an Airbag badge on the seatbelt- assembly part 😰

I did it!!! I swapped rear deck cover after changing the bench from non-foldable to a foldable one year ago. My conversion is as complete as it can get (missing lock cables that sense if the bench is closed). These hex mounts gave me headache. I will not retry this even if someone payed me to do it. Also, side note: wash your hands when installing these. After messing around with door seals and such, your hand will be dirty. My car has light interior, I got sweaty so I left dirty marks on these.

hey buddy ...yeah i know what u mean ...i know they make flat subbys now althought finding the exact same size subby mite be a challenge... and with the speakers on the rear deck ive also tried to find the right sizes but thats a challenge too .... i guess it may take some custom modifying to replace them... i know its easier to replace the front splits and the rear coaxials as they are common sizes ...but to be honest all ive done so far is replace the tweeters and added a sub for abit more bass 12inch but its now abit much i may have to go down to a 10inch as im not all.about that bass .... its about personal preference.... ur choice .... im even in the process of trying to replace the centre dash speaker but nothing is of that size and depth.... ill just keep looking

I obviously have to remove the the factory sub so no rattling will occur is this all you have to do in order for it to not rattle? u need to also check the seat belt for the centre seat ... rattling comes from both surrounding rear deck and the seat belt holder .... do u have rattling now ?

i dont think the wiring will be there u may need to wire a new sub and after market amp ... but im sure you can use the factory sub as you may already have the cut out for the subwoofer in the rear deck ....its just a matter of fitting it..do u know if you have a factory amplifier?

any tips on what I should look for when it comes to isolation/noise in that area? I feel like the noise is penetrating the car from under the rear glass (over the boot, not the boot itself) like if the foam isn't there or some sealing issue, my ears get clogged everytime I drive the car, unfortunately the service center caused that problem after they worked on the car and removed and put back things, but they can't understand what the issue is so I'm gonna do it myself instead of wasting time with them, before they work on it the car was completely silent, sorry for the long comment@@MIKEYZVLOGZ

I don’t understand a thing! I have the AMG interior and exterior package no Harman Kardon option. However I have that speaker in the back and the subwoofer! Is this standard on all the W204? They sound fantastic for what they are! I changed the player and installed an Android Chinese thing and the subs are working but I don’t understand what and how they are getting the signal from the main unit? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

ok do they have hardwires the speaker using fiber optic cables that run under the carpets along the side and chassis of the car main frame..metal frame ... and u have a subwoofer in the back left quarter panel ... it gets signal cuz its all hardwired and wen u connect your new system..u use your standard plug which has an adapter that plugs into your after market unit ..thata how it all gets connected ... just the same as how u install an aftermarket hedunit on any car u use the iso harness that allows the new unit to connect via the adapter..meaning all speaker signal and power and amp signal is all connected .hope this makes sense .. now with the the sub woofer and non hk system ... not too sure but non hk systems don't usually have the sub woofer in the back ... so do u have all the speakers centre dash front splitters rear doors and rear deck shelf subwoofer...its def not STD for w204 to have sub woofer normally u need the stereo package added..their are so many packages u can get for w204 from lighting packages to multimedia package. amg package sports package wheels packages .. navigaton package .. etc..what u have solely depends on what they added during manufacturing

I show how to relove the plate with the subwoofer in it ... to remove the sub from the plate that holds it wont be much more difficult ... as long as u remove the sub woofer from the rear deck u can figure out how to remove the sub from the mounting frame... from memory to remove the sub from the frame should be too much work... the important part was to show how to remove the component cuz if ur replacing with another factory sub u will get it with the mounting frame as one

which grill for ? there's the 6inch I think and sub woofer only..if ur talking about the long grill that covers from left to right that just prys up use a blunt plastic trim removal tool get in under one side and pry it up ..it just clips in

the rear speaker are surround and a subwoofer ... so they only play surround sound ..not vocals or bass... u can try find replacement speakers but I've heard alot of ppl try and fail because they are a certain size ... yes they are the same speakers just in different brackets... a good idea might be to buy used instead ... but its your choice I guess u can always try to custom fit surround speakers in there ...

just get a good grip on it and it will.come straight out make sure at the very top where u can feel the assembly that is inside the side cushions ..make sure ur gripped onto that assembly do not just pull from the cushion you will RIP it!!! get a good grip of the assembly and pull back straight with some force ...its just clipped it like the lower rear seats are exact same principle

1:03 I have a 2017 CLS and where you're removing the side area there, mine has an airbag in that spot where the seatbelt comes out of. I need to access the rear deck speakers because there is a TERRIBLE rattle coming from the right rear speaker. Should I still remove it even though there is an airbag there?

hey s how r u? is it very similar to mine? as i didnt remove my airbag at all.. eventho there is an airbag there you should only have to remove the cover that sits ontop of the airbag... the ratlle in the rear deck can be from a couple things ... 1 rear deck loosened from bass in rear deck 2. rear seatbelt holder has shaken loose or 3 speaker blown... i cant say for sure what ur case may be but it could be a few possibilities... as for how to remove ur airbag cover im not too sure as i have never worked on a cls.. however im sure it would be somewhat the same mate.... i hope this helps u

hey bud..anything is possible but I've read that the factory speakers work well with the factory amp and the amp isn't that powerful so if u want abit more sound ur gonna need to upgrade the amp aswell in order to get the full potentialnof your after market speakers ... I replaced just the tweeters thus far and noticed when I tried to upgrade the front splits the sound wasn't as good as the factory ones ...so I only did the tweeters for more treble as I added a sub too... that's what I believe and think friend...

@@P38Z350 in the rear shelf they are just surround speakers meaning they only play surround sound ... background noise..that's why our cars have theb5.1 Dolby digital.. so it's not tweeters ..its just surround speakers ... if u have they same speaker setup as mine with a factory sub woofer then they are just surround speakers very similar to a 5 speaker setup with home surround the fronts play the bulk of the sound treble mid and the sub plays bass and the rears play the surround so it sounds like there's ppl all around and tour in the centre.. makes sense?

if u can't fold seats down u need to find the bolts that secure the seats down .. look under the front cushion and the top u should have a bolt that screws down to hold the seat cushion in place

hey buddy the rattle is annoying i know .... however it could be a few things ... best way is to just open the rear deck and see what is rattling around and see if you can stop or or secure it.... with the seats .... what do u mean get them down ? do your seats fold down?

I’m not sure, I think that’s a facelift 2012-14 function. I know you have the ultra-rare 2010 AMG Sport Plus model so that’s why you may have it and I may not. Have to do research.

@@aaronpoisson i dont think its an amg modrl i have ... to put it simply i have a 2010 w204 c300 late model with the amg sports package with extra features .... ive seen a few around just like mine .... but compared to other countries i do notice a difference ... i dont think my model is rare...i was just lucky enough to find a model with all these extras from factory.... best way to put it.... however if u are trying to remove your back seats because they do not fold down then do abit of research regarding your type of seats .... im sure its not hard friend just has to be done a certain way.... ill see what i can find out for ya buddy

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ I'm gunna try observing them more closely sometime this week, I read owner's manual PDF and it looks like there might be two pull-tabs someplace that I can use to fold down the seats possibly. I'm replacing the rear deck and the brake light. My rear deck is rattling and so faded it looks light purple. My twilight plastic trim as damage somehow near the break light and to the pass side where the trim meets the window, which is visible causing my break light to reflect in the glass at night.

@@victorcm5635 ahh yes u can buy a set trim removal tool..u can use even a flat tool or a flat screwdriver.... but its very handy to own a trim removal tool set .... u can buy 1 tool or a set..i recommend a set if u plan on working on your own car

firstly ensure your settings are correct so it plays all speakers.. the rear 2 are only surround speaker so they won't play vocals or bass . only surround sound for 5.1 Dolby etc ... the rear door speakers is where most of your vocals and mids play from and front doors are splits alot.of.ppl mistaken the rear deck speakers for normal speakers..but they are simply surround speaker... mainly for movies with 5.1 Dolby and 7.1 surround ... ull hear things like footsteps back chatter background music ..pens drops ... basically surround sound

@@Therealtrestan ok guys the rear deck speakers are only surround speakers vocals do not play out of them u should only hear music from door speakers centre dash and tweeters and sub is for bass ... play a movie and listen for surround sound like ppl walking or background noise in the movie ... I thought the same but it's for surround sound

A Pair of kickers and it says 2-3/4". THATS IT> For rear deck corner, This is for my 2014 Benz C300 Sport Sedan, and Crutchfield like I said came up with only 1 pair of speakers, and I'm confused even on the size, because I know I have the 8" sub, and then the 2 surround speakers, well what does 2-3/4" mean? is the size really 3/4"? I'm so confused on what size corner I need, but also I figure if anyone else is reading this, could I replace that sub with a shallow mount JL or some good brand or will it all sound like crap with the amp? Please first, help with speaker is a MUST!!! Thanks!!!

@@devryguy27 I could be wrong but I always thought it was a 10inch sub woofer we had in w204s and the rear surround speakers are definitely in the 3inch to 3.5 inch range ... honestly sometimes to be sure u have to open it up and actually measure cuz u also need to measure the depth as well ... and in my experience it's ery hard to find direct replacement for the reardeck speakers ... gimme a bit of time as I'm pretty busy and I'll try confirm everything for u

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ Hey, I appreciate anything you can find, I haven't fooled with anything yet, if it weren't for my super mean dad, I would have already taken it apart and followed your directions but let me know if you can or have time to find to check out. it is a 2014 Benz, C300 Sport with the Harmon Kardon Package, so 3 rear speakers just like yours.Thanks . I also bought 2 sets of Monster LED strips,, I want to try and mount either just under the driver dash floor board under steering wheel, then under passenger Glove box, but not sure if I can just use one 6 ft cable, or if I should use 2 and cut them if I can't fit my hand , but then I'll use a cigarette lighter Dual USB to power them, and thankfully one remote controls them both. I just thought it would look cool at night. LMK if you have any ideas, I could also come out the center console with 2 , and run each one down the middle console, then off under steering wheel left , the other down and right to under the Glove box.?

with the speakers its gonna be hard to find u might be better off getting second hand like I said they are surround speakers so they only play surround sound ... are u trying to listen for vocals? ull only hear background noise in whatever u play... try play a movie then listen ... if they are blown u should hear cracking and distortion ... as for the ambient lights yes u should install under wheel n glove box and run down the middle to the rear under driver and passenger seats .. that's what I did and there's a controller so u can change colours too

I think the American models have tabs on the pillars. You need to pry them first then pull them.

Where is the 3rd brake light part? As if anyone else cares. The notorious rear speakers and subwoofers usual go after time on this vehicle. I have to do a sound test once a year. The "3rd brake light" and rear fog light better not blow out. I'm not doing any of this stuff for that.

@@MIKEYZVLOGZ I know. I was not surprised by all the audio replacements. The speakers are notorious for blowing on my vehicle. I keep it pretty much stock but, if ever the the "Center High Mount Stop Lamp" or CHMSL goes out, you'd think there was an easier way to access it. ;) (3rd brake light it is. There is always an industry term for everything) Every year, I hope the Subwoofer on the HK Logic7 doesn't blow out. You did the work......I wouldn't. I'd either live with it or pay someone to do it at that point. Interesting video. I did replace the hideous door pins and went led all around with the gaudy Metcedes-Benz Projector door LEDS. 😒
