Mercedes- Benz Rear Deck Rattle Noise (SOLVED)

Ever hear a strange rattle noise coming from the rear deck? Want to know what it is? Its actually the center seat belt. There is a metal ball that rattles around. I strongly recommend wrapping the the outside of the unit (NOT THE INSIDE) with sound deadening material...DO NOT remove the ball. This will stop the noise by 90%.

What if you just remove the whole seatbelt assembly? Will it trigger some airbag/restraining system lights on the dash? Can those be coded out?

I have a merc c220 and have a bad Rattle on the back though it may of been about spring , replaced the spring still got the rattle do you think it may be the same seat belt ?

my car dpesnt have a selt belt on the rear deck , and i believe its from where the rear cover meets the cover for the rear brake lightstrip just above the rear deck, im making a video now and hopefully if i solve it i will post it

So I have a C350 coupe, 2014, and I have the rattle coming from the passenger side seat belt. I'm wondering if just adding some sound dampener to the outside of the plastic will keep it quiet. Thoughts?

+LaswellB what I found out that helps/ resolved my issue was applying sound deadening just under it (in bolt it and apply under unit) and on both the white plastic sides. This killed all my noise from the rear.

I would grease the cavity that the ball sits in. That should dampen any bouncing/vibrations, but still allow it to function properly! Preferably a clear fully-synthetic grease.

+tom yuksel I would check 2 things first being the panel behind the seats to make sure it's not loose. And secondly I would check the rear shocks... That's usually the culprit on the ML

That’s a different noise than mines. I can press on the rear speaker and her the squeak and rattle. It goes away when I press and hold the speaker encasement.

6x9? Why He would have to custom cut the metal under the rear deck and then power them through an amp which is getting the signal from the rear speakers. Are you sure he doesn't just want to install a subwoofer? I have a video for that

I hear a rattling noise coming from the dashboard. Sometimes it comes from behing the steering wheel sometimes in the middle of the dash. Ive been taking my car since last September and everytime they tell me its fixed it still comes back
