Mercedes-Benz Cabriolet Differences - Compare C300, E400 and S550

Mercedes-Benz offers a full line-up of soft top cabriolets. The 2018 E400 has just arrived and I thought it would look great with the C300 and S550!

Thank you. My comments apply to 2020 models, but relatively in the realm. It has been hard to get to see them side by side at most dealerships I've been to. The differences in interior dimensions between the E & S are minor, but the option lists are significantly different. It's a shame the E is not as upscale as it needs to be. But the S makes a great statement and now I'm convinced that's the way to go. While the leg room on the S does not appear to be anymore than the E, I believe the setback is not as upright in the S. S slopes a bit more than E which slopes a bit more than the C.

Hey Jesse. I notice at the end of your video you mention you have/had a c43 cabriolet. I’m in the UK and am considering one of these, but wonder if it’s too small. How does the cabin space compare to the E class, both front and back? When you have the drivers seat in your position in the C, how much rear leg room is there? When you have your seat in the same position in the E, does that give you more rear leg room or not necessarily. My kids are 8 and nearly 10, both quite tall for their age. Thanks!!!!

The biggest difference would be the seat base itself. Neither have a lot of leg room but the E has a longer cushion so there is less knee space needed. The C was quite tight for my rear seat passengers but fine for quick lunch trips. 8 and 10 year olds might just be excited for convertible rides!

Hey Jesse, what is the rear leg room depth differences between them all when the front seats are moved all the way to the back. so how many inches or cm of leg room space is left after front seats are moved to their furthest back setting?

It is more of a difference in the part of the seat you sit on. They all have zero leg room with the front seat moved all the way back (not that most people could reach the pedals from there) but the S-Class has a longer seat cushion so you only need enough room for your knees, not any femur. The E and the C are proportionally smaller.

The E is roomier in the back for sure. The seat base is longer and the knee room is more.

I know that the 4 series has more space than the c class. But there are no real comparisons between the 4 series and the e class. Out of those two which one has more space?

When comparing the back seats of the convertibles look at the length of the seat, where your butt and legs would rest. If the seat base is long then you only need room for your knees and feet. If it is tiny seta base then you'll have to sit sideways because there won't be enough space. All three of these convertibles can acommodate people under six feet.

They used to looks completely different, now they all look similar with different sizes and slight differences, very disappointing! The S class used to stand out and you can recognize it from a distance. NOT ANYMORE.
