Matt, the car you were testing has keyless go. So if you kick your foot under the boot the boot automatically opens. Or you can open the boot using the key. So not sure why you mentioned that it was annoying feature that you can only open from the inside which is incorrect.

I bought the new C-class coupe (c250d AMG line with lots of extras) and sold it 2 months after purchase 1. Reliability is a problem, 2 weeks after purchase the bootlid broken down 2. Infotainment system and satnav are a massive pain to use 3. They cheapened on making the car right-hand drive (e.g. volume control is on driver side and engine modes are on passenger side. Honestly, how much does it cost to swap these two switches?) 4. In some places the car feels cheap. For example the key is from early 2000s Mercs and there are plenty of cheap plastics anywhere below the eyeline. Yet this car (in a good spec, like mine was) is quite expensive: you can get a Porsche Boxster/Cayman for little extra, which are actual premium cars with high-quality material and well thought-out cabin, not to mention driving dynamics and handling (which by the way isn't that great on the C-class). Which is exactly what I did: I bought a Cayman after selling the C-class and I couldn't be happier now. The only Mercs worth spending money on are AMG cars and high-end E-class and S-class (in my opinion) Rant over

Of course the trade-off with Porsche is that you don't have rear seats, but if you're looking for a car to enjoy driving and enjoy the weather with roof down, rear seats shouldn't matter that much, otherwise get an MPV and not a diesel C-class convertible (honestly, why would you buy a diesel convertible) Or if its your only car and you're desperate for the rear seats, get yourself a petrol 4-series convertible or wait for the new A5 convertible

I have a C43 AMG Cabriolet. An absolutely beautiful car.....nicely quick and agile and yet can still get 30mpg on a road trip....BUT.....the tires and wheels on this car are very fragile. I've had 5 or 6 flat tires and 3 cracked wheels. I have had several other cars with low profile or run flat tires and never had this problem under identical road conditions. A new wheel was $1150. I think the car is just too heavy for low profile or run flat tires. I've seen several other similar complaints on various Mercedes Benz forums. I don't feel comfortable driving the car out of town.

Igor Warszawa : The UK is a big buyer of convertibles, because we have so little sun we value it more than those countries that have too much sun. Regards diesel convertibles, why not, with the U.K. having some of the world's highest petrol/ diesel prices we need to save on costs and not everybody wants to rev highly on a petrol car like a little boy.

Stock/Sport exterior looks really bad on this. Pretty much only option to spec up for amg-trim to get this car look decent and oh boy does it look decent then. In my opinion the design gives buyer only one option: Go big or go home, to stand out and to look worthy this car has to be specced quite high to deliver.
