I am in the process of installing one in my 2000 E430 - flip screen one. I did buy the adaptor - I must say that the other wires you saw, one was for PHONE, other one was for steering controls etc.. it looks like your car did not have steering wheel control - also my after-market unit is different, it has audio left and right and video left and right, antenna, backup camera, and CVBS input (which I do not what it means yet) - so if you want to take advantage of your bose amp and all the lovely speaker systems, you do not need to use the LOC and I am using the PAC Lp7-4 - not sure when I will succeed, but the old head unit is an exact match to what your was.

I have the same model Benz but that radio head unit is too expensive for my budget, would that connector harness work with another unit??

The harness from Metra ? It should. You're going to connect the wires from that Metra harness to the harness that your aftermarket radio comes with. That way you dont cut any of your stock radio wires.

Would the Alpine UTE-73BT fit as well via best buy or amazon? I have a 1997 C280. I think it would. I have all the wires just do not know which stereo to get. The one you have is kind of pricey. Would you know the difference? Thanks.

@@ByronRamos_ thanks for the video. I ordered all the wires you recommended. I believe Amazon sold them as a bundle actually. So I got that there. And I went with the cheaper UTE-73BT for my 97 C280 and it worked perfectly. It fit nicely and maybe had to use a little bit of force. For the butt connects most of them are 18-22 except for the black and yellow cables. I used 14 I believe. Just a head up for anyone.

I bought it and wired everything up correctly and have no blown fuses, but the radio is getting no power, did you run into this problem? What was that black and yellow wiring problem you mentioned? Could it be something to do with that? If you read this thank u so much I just can’t find any information on this

I'm about to install the same radio - curious if I can just use the harness or if I'll need to tap into another power source (like the cigarette lighter). I'm hoping to NOT have to do that, because I don't really know what i'm doing here lol

I got an alpine radio too for my 99 e320 but it says my preouts are 2V. Will I need to use the channel line output converter? Or should I give it a shot and do it your way

Not sure if 2V would be enough but i would still say give it a shot and try my way. Let me know how it goes.

Should be able to. Aslong as the preouts of the aftermarket radio are 4volts.
