Mercedes Benz E320 - Engine coolant temperature sensor that goes to the gauge

How do you take it off without damage to the connector

Yeah in my w210 e320 this sensor turn on the cooling fan there's another sensor located on the water pump it gives the reading for the gauge this sensor measure coolant temp just to turn on the cooling fan

This sensor is not for gauge reading its for the radiator cooling fan

It measures the coolant temperature in order for the gauge on the cluster to work...show the coolant temp. The temp sensor on the gauge didn't work, showed no reading, and after replacement with this new sensor the temp gauge on the cluster did work. I am not sure what you are trying to say via your comment but you are implying that this sensor has nothing to do with the temp gauge on the cluster and that is incorrect.

Guess it depends on the model but my 1995 C280 it controls the temperature gauge

On my om617, m102, m103 this sensor controls the guage
