Actually just changed headlight bulbs in my c207 chassis earlier. Good timing! Did get the "check right fog lamp" message & failure would come after a short drive. (Guess it was the beginning of failure rather than complete failure.) Also had a "adaptive high beam inoperative" message which I assumed came along with the bulb dying. Either way, thanks for this vid

Only watched 1 video and had to subscribe. Such a simple yet concise video. My dash light came on telling me I had a light out a while back but then would go away. Now it is finally on consistently and my passenger low beam is out. Replaced the bulb but it still didn't work. It's a 1999 SL500 Sport with 55k. If you have an idea please share. Will be watching your other videos especially the scanner one.

Love it, keep the MB & especially the R230 tips coming. I have an SL65 so anything V-12 related you can reveal from that SL600, pass it on. I would welcome more clarity on how the consumer batt & starter batt can assist each other, if at all. Some folks say you can charge both batteries with one charger, but I think that's completely wrong and use two tenders. Like David G, I also use the MBII, but can't recall if that scanner will do the light tests.

I currently have both issues on my sl500 r230, driver side low beam e1e2, bulb flashes about 10 times, and goes out, getting my bi directional tool in a couple days to perform some actuation tests. And on the passenger side I have no indicators on that dash and my passenger blinker as well as my horn, they are not working. Hope to trouble shoot and find the issue. I was told right blinker and horn run on the same wiring or ar apart of the same harness and could have been a rodent that chewed a wire but as you say if the same thinks it's fine.. might be time for a new passenger SAM sadly.. I hope not but we will see after further diagnosing..

Hi Lou, Nice vid keep em going! Question about the Actuation function on the scanner. Does the MBII scan tool have the same option, It never crossed my mind to check if it has it while i was doing scans on my bad driver SAM. 3rd like is mine keep up the good work Lou and thank you for you help as always.

I have a 03 ML500 w/bi xenon system and a 2023 Launch CRE for Benz and my low beams have failed. I have searched and searched but I cannot find either a low beam, or a high beam actuation function in my diagnostic tool. I have seen no fuse(s) or relay(s) for the low beams at all. All lighting functions with the only exception being the low beams. When I use the switch to turn on the headlamps, there are two pins for the low beams with voltage. One result is battery strength at 12v and the other is 1.19v I believe. It is irregular that both low beam bulbs would burn out at the same time. What else can I check? I do have a new set of HID bulbs OTW. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated!

I have a 2006 CLS 500 the fog lights come on and off sometimes only the right fog light turns off and on. I’ve changed it still same problem no corrosion can be seen. Any ideas

yes it works for all of our cars since 2000 you can get a scanner on ebay or amazon, it has to say BI DIRECTIONAL meaning it can not only see what the cars computers are seeing but it can activate what the cars computers can activate

I hit a post would that cause the sam to nock the power out the light the fog light is fine bulb is fine fuse is fine but have now power going to the wires

If the dash shows there is a bulb out, then the issue is with the wiring to the socket most likely, if the dash does not show there is a bulb out, yet there is, then the issue can be a sam, but you do need a scanner to do what I did in the video to be sure. there is no other way to force power to the bulb socket. also be sure to not use led bulbs, and try swapping the bulb to the opposite side to see if the issue moves to that side or stays on the faulty side.

@@magreeebeee7456 gotta wire test from sam to socket. Ground to socket. That will determine back socket.

Yes, you don’t have one! Owners manual. All mercedes only have 1 rear fog light. If you had 2 people would think you were braking. :)

The dash board give message "Low Beam Right". The driver side lights are all on and working just fine. I did change the low beam light bulb however the light is still not working. What are my options?

@@neildixon6918 wish I could explain more but it is explained in the video. Need to use a scanner to activate lighting to test also if the dash says light is out but its not then its most likely a failed control unit. But also you have to use the correction bulbs in the sockets. The module senses resistance, and if its not correct it will cut power to the socket.

Sounds like a possible failed sam. Need to have it scanned to see.
