I am a mechanic all my life, never work at Benz Dealership. 14 years ago I decided to purchase a 2004 E-500 4matic Mercedes with a blown Engine due to Hijostatic 🔐. First owner drove the car 🚗 in water that was to high 😳 and it suck the water from the grill intake ducks. One connecting rod was broken and six was bent badly two piston Skirt was broken the block had holes on both sides. and was also cracked with the oil pan 15,000 miles was on the car 🚗. Due to the year of the car at the time was just two years old I couldn't find a suitable Engine for the car. So I decided to repair the Engine, crazy right. Well I did it. Same Engine. Only internal parts was replaced not including crankshaft camshaft six pistons oil pump and chain. 129,000 miles now is on the 🚗. Still has the car. You're videos are very good and understandable. I like them and appreciate you. Keep up the good work 👏 👍. Thanks.

Actually MB Dealerships like me, because they share my videos with their customers. That saves a lot of time to their salespeople, as they can concentrate on selling instead of explaining how to use the car. Although, when I worked in sales, I've always liked to explain myself, because that's how you get the repeat business.

I have owned Benzos for almost 25 years and currently own five of them, and have never had any of these issues. The most important thing for a Mercedes owner to know, is a Non dealer Benz specialist who knows the cats because the dealership is a stealership. They will rip you off royally. Even if they know the cheap fix for an issue, many times they'll recommend something expensive followed by "more troubleshooting". They are there to take your money. It's imperative that you find a local shop that's preferably family owned for several years, they'll have a reputation to uphold, and will cost you so much less. Better than that though, are the two mercedes forums, where you can learn literally everything you need to know, and those are free. The money you will save by doing your own maintenance will be phenomenal.
@MBZMaster3 жыл бұрын
It's great to be able to find a knowledgeable independent MB shop. But if they are not knowledgeable enough, they may actually cost you more, because some are doing "try and fail" technics. Although more expensive, MB service department, can actually save you money by doing the right thing in the first place. One example is 2003-2005 E and SL-Classes had Sensotronic braking system, which was highly pressurized. Some people trying to perform the brake jobs on their own - ended up in the hospital with damaged hands. I'd still recommend the local MB dealership service department for the newer vehicles, especially those under the warranty.

My wife uses that old car very little, only 4000KM a year and I don't want to change the oil after so little driving, that dammed warning light for service is driving me crazy. I am quite sure a lot of your followers would love to know. Congratulation again for your fantastic and useful videos... Great job.

MBZ Master. I have a question. MB wants $450 to change out my battery.. My batter is still working but I usually get a new one every few years. I was on Mercedes Embrace program so if anything happened to me I just press the button and Embrace shows up with a battery that usualy cost me just under $200. Because of the 3G network Embrace has discountued my "legacy" service. Mercedes said they have no fix for the 3G issue at this point. So my question is if I need to replace the battery do I have to go to Mercedes to get one??? I did a youtube search and saw that there is a clip of some sort to remove the covering of the battery. Once I remove that cover it is just like a normal battery that I can replace correct or I can have a friend help me replace it but can you tell me what kind or brand they use or that I can use if this happens... I have a 2010 C300 Sport... I would GREATLY appreciate it... MJ

So, a few things to know. 1. Don't change the battery, unless it shows signs of weakness. 2. You can change it anywhere, doesn't have to be MB dealership. 3. Even if you don't have Mbrace working, you still have the free MB Roadside Assistance. I believe your model has FREE Roadside Assistance for the LIFETIME of your car. Instead of using Mbrace, just call from your cell 1.800.FOR.MERCedes. and get the same service. 4. Thanks for another amazing video! Regarding the carwash, do we have to deactivate the smart key to disable the Hands-free Access for the trunk to avoid the trunk popping open due to detectign automatic carwash movement etc...? That's what the manual suggests... but as per your video, just having the smart key inside the car should automatically deactivate it? So the Hands-free Access will be disbaled as long as the smat key is inside the car ?

Great video... I'm interested in buying a 2013 gl450 with 75000 miles. Do you recommend buying a used vehicle and with how many miles?
@MBZMaster3 жыл бұрын
Usually I recommend to lease brand new car with option to buy, instead of buying a used car. But since there is huge inventory shortage right now, maybe it's a good idea to buy used. Used car depends on its condition. You can buy a used high mileage car in much better condition than a low-mileage car. All depends how the car was taken care of. Make sure to do a thorough inspection. 2013 GL's had issues with air suspension. You can check vehicle's history with your local MB dealership if there were any issues with suspension. Because if there were problems, they may repeat again. Consider extended warranty.

The car came equipped with the Harmon-Kardon stereo & sound system. Do you know of any function or way to resolve this annoying interruption of music when playing? Radio stations are perfect, CDs play perfect. Just the blue tooth & music is constantly cutting in & out. Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

1). Try to pair some other phone and see if the same thing happens - to see whether the problem is with the phone or the car. 2) Unpair your phone from your car completely and erase it, and then pair again. 3). If nothing helps, your car may be due to a software update, which can be done at any MB dealership.

I knew about 2. From my mechanic ( non dealer). Thank you for your priceless, or should I say price saving advice. Very much appreciated!! ....and the information you provide to keep the money out of the dealership and in our back pockets and purses.... or 'murses' for those that need to change up their wardrobe. ( man from the 50's staying current) :) Thanks again!!

@@alanbrand7681 What crap you are talking? The co-worked with Renault to make the tiniest engines that are only on a few A-Class models. No idea why that is such a bad thing. Lamborghini shares so many parts with Audi and Volkswagen, but charge way more.

Watching your video allowed me to get familiar with my car and ease my frustration. I did not know that Japanese and German technology is so different.
