Mercedes-Benz NG 2636 V10 Power driving & Engine Sound GoPro Driving

We tried out this 360 hp V10 Engine on the streets of Belgium. We filmed it with a GoPro 7 Black. Enjoy! This Mercedes-Benz truck from 1985 is still preserved in very good condition. It drives like new. It's absolutely a pleasure to drive something like this. And the sound is amazing.

Sounds great, looks like a real low rev torque machine! Back in the day here in NZ these were quite common for hauling cattle, and bulk commodities in 8x4 configuration with 3 axle trailers. Top video.

The 400 series engines aren’t that at all. They thrive on revs. They certainly need working up and down the box unlike a Gardner. The engine in these is a big old lump 18.3 litres but sometimes needs the full 2500 rpm to get anywhere.

Als ich ich 2005 als Fahrer in einer Spedition angefangen habe, hatten wir dort eine 3achser NG 360 als Schwerlastzugmaschine. Auch ich kam in den Genuss diesen noch fahren zu dürfen. Der Klang war wie eine Melodie. Eine sehr schöne Maschine. Der NG war noch bis 2013 im täglichen Einsatz. Zumeist für Materialtransporte für Braunkohletagebaue.

Personally I prefer MAN F90/F2000. for me still dream truck. that era was characterized by high durability, reliability, functionality, failure-free due to the minimization of electronics. now electronics controls everything, interferes with everything and is of poor quality. it is such a system of interconnected and managed electronic cells. past times were simple and functional. back then, accountants did not construct / build trucks, but specialists for drivers, not for an authorized service station. completely different attitude / philosophical approach and art.

I think I know the truck you are talking about. It was near center of Germany and it looked exactly like it other than a different colour. It really was beautiful. Diesen LKW hat einen OM423 motor. Motorleistung ist größer und die Einspritzpumpe ist anders. im übrigen ist es ein bisschen ähnlich.
