The SLK250 CDI has lots of torque, similar to the SLK 55 which has the V8, so taking it out on a freezing cold day, on what I assume are summer tires is asking for trouble, especially at low speed where the torque is high. In sport mode it would be even worse. I bought a set of Pirelli Sotozero 2s for my SLK250 and they transformed the car. Ive driven in rain snow and ice with winters and the car is rock solid really fantastic grip.

I've driven one of these and loved it, the engine sounds fine and you do have a radio etc.. !!! I've had a few RWD / automatic Mercs and yes they are not good with snow and ice, hence why I use my Audi Allroad in the Winter, or get some proper Winter Tyres and it really does transform it !!!

My partner has this model and it's great to drive, much better than my C250 coupe, and the diesel sounds great when you toe it, very torquey engine. It's a good smooth even ride & far far better than the Z4 & TT in my opinion . Still don't know how u lost the back end at 10mph ?? I've driven hers in frost & slippery wet C-roads and it grips the road just fine ....

I am 6ft and the cabin is spacious and the fit out is classy, unless you are a petrol head racer its an amazing piece of kit, glad to see him the review get more positive as he progressed. You can get the back out but never had that at 10 mph

Fair review, a good car let down by a ridiculous 4 cylinder lump that doesn't belong in a car with sporting pretensions. If it needs to be a diesel, it's got to be a 6, had a few and they sound and go well. Can't imagine being stationary with the roof down listening to that.
