I have a 2007 SLK55 AMG in the same color. I adore this car. It's a 'fair weather' car, and gets put in a heated garage with a trickle charger during the winter. Every time l drive her, l have a big, dumb grin on my face, she is such a joy to own. That big V8 sound is so good, l never even turn the radio on. I put 19" AMG wheels on her and a 'smart-top' module. I will never sell this car! Just a wonderful vehicle.

I own a 2005 SLK55, a 2006 BMW Z4M roadster, and a 2009 Porsche Boxster S with PDK. What an era for roadsters! The SLK is the muscle car of the lot. All are different enough that they really don't overlap. The SLK and Z4M are really rare, but prices don't reflect that yet. I would say to buy the marque that appeals to you the most, you really can't go wrong. Enjoyed the video.
@radridesbyehsanshirazi87797 ай бұрын
Man, that's awesome that you have all of those cars. I agree with you 100% that the era of putting V8s and V10s in the cars was probably one of the best. I think in 3-5 years, the prices of Z4M and SLK55 will increase as they definitely meet the requirements for rare, classic, and stylish cars. I own 8 cars, but my favorites are my '23 M3 6speed, '24 GR Corolla 6speed, and my '97 C36 AMG big turbo. I'm also looking for a 2001-2002 Z3M that has the S54 engine (same as your Z4M). I hope to snatch one soon because I really like those. Thank you for watching the video, btw, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I am a nut case, so I have a SLK55 AMG, in Silver and a Z4M, in Red, I am working on getting a Boxter once my finances have recovered recovered, no finance in this house. I'd have to say the; looks, sounds and driving experiences are very different, but so rewarding in their own way. These cars have character and presence, but the average person won't care, cars are just appliances, when they have used them up, throw them away and buy something else. I think for me the early 2000's was a great era of cars, rather the great error of EV's... Thanks for the review.
@radridesbyehsanshirazi8779 Жыл бұрын
I am a nutcase as well, Kevin, so don't feel too bad. I currently own a '08 IS-F, '97 C36 AMG (heavily modified), '23 M3 6speed in Individual Speed Yellow (review will go live in few weeks), '97 QX4, and recently bought ANOTHER '97 4Runner 5speed 4x4, lol. Thankfully, I do have a good career to balance the bills, including mortgage and high costs of living in California. I do %100 agree with you regarding the early 2000s being the halo years of ICE cars as V10s and V8s were being stuffed into European cars and Greta, governments, and others weren't trying to kill those cars as EVs are boring to drive at least for me... Anyhow, have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for your support!

Odd ball fleet, I guess they reflect their owner. I had a BMW i3REX for about 8 months, loved the interior, traded it in for the Z4M, and replaced it with the IQ 100GM as a small run around. I had an SLK 55AMG 10yrs ago. A beautiful car, but the engine and gearbox both failed even though it had only done 55k miles with full service history. The auto box is perfect for the car however, they should have given it the more reliable and robust 5 speed auto box. I think the car was too powerful for the 7g box. In terms of the ride again it was good. I never had a problem with it. I used it as my daily driver and yes fuel economy wasn’t good. Once it got down to single figures and the best I ever had it was 22miles/gallon.
@radridesbyehsanshirazi87799 күн бұрын
@Bryanok1 thanks for sharing yoir story Bryan. It's sad that you had bad luck with that low of mileage. Yeah, their 5sp auto was very reliable and even used in the 65s. I know they weren't known to be fuel sippers.
@Bryanok19 күн бұрын
@:- The reason I know the 5spd gearbox was much better as I also had the 32amg which done over 200k on the original engine and gearbox. Both engine and gearbox were very strong. The only issue was the Supercharger when I climbed over the legal limit. So I have a lot of knowledge on SLK AMGs… I think the r171 looks the best. I would like another one but I think the F-type v8 is the best 5lt car. A car I have also owned.
@radridesbyehsanshirazi87798 күн бұрын
@Bryanok1 that makes sense since you've owned a few of these AMGs. Good to hear that you had 200K miles on your SLK 32. I've always liked those too
@Bryanok18 күн бұрын
@: The 32 was so much more associated with being feminine(hairdressers)car. I remember when I first got it. Guys would look at it like it was just a standard SLK r170. When I blew them away from the lights especially in their BMW M3s they soon took notice. The 32 was very rare. So rare in fact that when came to insuring it, it was treated like a standard SLK. However, when it was written off because someone drove into it, it was almost a license to print money. The insurance didn’t have anything or figures in terms of payment/payouts. So I got paid 3x the value of what I paid for it….

Funny ,my car does not have that B/S noise coming out of the exhaust you promote . Now you would have said something about biodegradable insulation falling off wires in fuel tank, feeding fuel pump and sending unit . bare wire touching each other,causing fuse to fuel to blow , giving the impression that fuel pump is bad ,they do not sell pump sending wires ,only new fuel tank for thousands. Then you would be talking about the 06 SLK 55 AMG with less than one thousand miles on car ( PIECE of SHIT ) that I own

Blame the german government for making biodegradable wiring harnesses. They are made to fail. Sorry to hear that. You need to retrograde the wiring harness sorry to say. I have an r170, has some biodegradable wiring in the headlights so I know the pain but definitely not to that extent. That is very frustrating.
