Legend.. so to add on to that I had to press the pick up hand set 1st for a couple of seconds then let go and hot handset and ok together then it worked and yes on the mileage seen! P.s Halfords couldn't do this with their machine!

Figured it out, screen must be on trip odometer screen with mileage for menu to show up.
