The lock on the driver side of this 2003 C220, would not lock, even with the mechanical key.
On this video I will take you through the fault finding, and how I have repaired the lock.

Thank you for the tutorial. How were you able to move the elevator that far back? I drilled the rivets like you suggested but it won’t move back enough for the actuator to fit through and I’m afraid to break something by insisting.

Hi this is a common problem on these Mercedes I have a b class.with the machine gun effect as it's called except it's on passenger door bit easier than your repair placement door holds all the electrical components comes off in one go anyway you have triumph again well done.

Insert a toothpick in the jumping button and.. problem solved. Mine is working with the toothpick for 5 years now.

I have some of those springs in stock Luis... you should have asked lol. I've done a few of those on E class also. FYI You can buy a set of 4 springs from eBay that come with fancy scissor things to install them if you get another one. Nice work mate

No... I just did it again on another car not long ago... The window does not comes off... There is a bit of fiddling if I recall correctly though...

I can’t move the guide on mine either far enough. How did you get it resolved? I’m afraid to break the glass if I insist.

Here in portugal the store charged me 100 for the refurbished lock and 43€ for deposit (uma caução) , I was with the client and he wanted it so not my decison, but I had to leave mine there.... 100€ for the spring replacement....

Hey, maybe you can help me. My front passenger door cant be unlocked by the electronical key or the button in the middle. It just doesn't do anything, I don't hear a sound and it doesn't go up and down or something, just nothing. When I open the door manually from the inside, close it and lock it from the middle console button or the key, it makes a strange sound, but it closes normally besides the sound. I uploaded a video of the sound when closing: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gHfPoZWvpZx7e8k Do you think this is repairable by replacing springs too? I'm currently trying to decide whether to buy a used lock for 40€ or to try and fix it. By the way: As far as I know, to remove the lock, you just need to drill the two bottom rivets for the window regulator, move it a bit, and then u can get the lock out somehow. So no need to remove the airbag.

Hi I have done this some time ago... I can't remember exactly how I have removed the lock... But either way you need to remove it... from there check if is repairable with a new spring or if another lock is the best option... Thank you for watching!
