Hello, love your videos. I have a 2008 C300 4matic. When shopping for a used ESL replacement, I noticed all have different numbers. Do I need the same exact type, or can I use any ESL, from any C300, as long as it is the same year?

so the steering lock can can cause No Turn No Start. My CLK occasionally won't Turn but if I wiggle the Steering Wheel it helps to fire up. but that does not explain that on Rare Occasions the Engine just Stops . any Suggestions ?

@@marshallrandall5268 Marshall Randall Changing the connector May be all you have to do I put my hand behind Fuse Panel and gave it a good yank and it worked for about a year

If your steering wheel is locked you're going to have to actually have to drop the steering wheel column and drill a hole in the esl to actually get the parts inside to turn in order to unlock and take out the esl. If not this will not work.

@@nicholaskoketso4688 yea but it turned out to be water damage in the cables below the driver's seat under the carpet Mercedes said $1200 to start working on it (it eventually turned on but I sometimes have electrical issues such as esp not working or cruise control basically all safety features sometimes don't work)

had esl go but not locked e250 saves time if not locked new esl fron dealers and green key from dealers

I just called number you provide to reach out to you. I have a C 250 that needed ignition coils to be changed. It was misfiring, engine light was on. Then engine light started to blink twice on the second blink. Car turned off. Any idea why a Mercedes’ would do that ?

Mine opens and closes, but it is dead as well. Now I have the “remove key from ignition” light. Tried a jump with no help. However, I have lights inside and out functioning and a brand new battery. Now is this just a plug in? Or is this involving tearing apart my dashboard and steering wheel to fix? The video looks like he basically plugs one thing in and boom !!! it’s all good..

Your don't say what's on the other end of the plug you used to bypass the ESL? You dont show where the other end goes or plugs into? You dont tell us where to get the bypass plug and wires? And you don't help us without knowing that very very important information.

The bypass (emulator) takes the place of the steering lock, the connector that plugs into the factory lock plugs into the emulator, the lock is located on the steering column and needs to be removed. These are not plug & play. They have to be programmed in order to work. This can be done by someone local like a decent locksmith, a capable shop or you can send the EIS out and have it done. The latter being the least expensive. You can even get the original lock repaired, however the emulator is really a better option as the OEM locks are failure prone.
