It's not easy to find info on Merc's period. However this guy know his S 4sure. Excellent info presended as best as you could hope for as this is not easy to understand more/less get across in a video what steps you're going thru in your head. Cheers, glad I found this channel. If I could impose for a question; remote appears dead, When inserted get nothing (don't hear servo for I assume is steering lock &/or shift) no cluster activation either. I am thinking power/fuse, but I am conserned about bunch of after market crap been installed/uninstalled (scotch locks) all about rig. Yeah, not good. Anyway, your thoughts would be fantastic. Hi I have a 2010 Mercedes Vito with intermittent key not been recognised, I’m I right in thinking if I use another Mercedes key not for my car and try it and always get the message key not recognised all the time that pretty much means the EIS is good and my key is the Issue, great videos 😊

Hi my w204 c350 2010 starts in the morning when the engin is cold but when it's hit it just crank and wount start but if I put jumpers on it it starts if been to many people and every on tels me a other story dit replaced the glow plug module it was fault my obd picked it up

Hey Mario my Mercedes S500 2003 key works when I stick it into the car ignition the clusters respond all the lights and radios work still no crank took it to a shop and they said it was ECM computer AFTER A RAIN STORM and drains were clogged.......any thoughts

A battery won't cause they key to not be recognized. There could be something else going on with either your key or your eis

Hey love your channel brother, I'm an infiniti tech. Quick question how are you communicating with the car and the keys off? my snap on triton d10 will not communicate with koffeo. Is this a Mercedes thing or special function of the autel?

Depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles with the hazard lights on will keep the immobilizer systems on, among other systems. I’m pretty sure Infiniti with the hazard lights on will keep the BCM on. it will fill to automatically pull up the Vin number because most vehicles report Vin numbers from the PCM except for Mercedes which will report the Vin number from the EIS. So if you try to bypass the Vin number by manually inputting it, and you still have no communication, try with the hazard lights on. It should communicate regardless of the schedule. If it does not communicate then you have something else going on

@Super Mario Diagnostics I have the same Car/Model W204 mine was okay all the way although it didnt Crank at all Then the Tech came and all he did was reInsert the Relays and Fuses in the Front Fuse Box and Reset ECU and it started again. No faults prior and after. What could be the problem? He is hinting thay it could be with the Front Consumer inside the Fuse Box itself that it might have gotten moisture.

What a good tutorial on DAS ! On a 2008 W204 GLK280, Steering column clearly unlock when both keys are plug in, In second contact position, a message appear: "ESP inoperative and run flat inoperative" and engine will not start, Xentry show ME9.7 N3/10 Control Unit isn't awake, unable to ask fault codes on it. On EZS, A valid vehicle key was detected YES Start enable for control unit 'ESL' is issued YES Start enable for control unit 'ME' is issued NO Start enable for control unit 'ETC is issued NO Sometimes this message disappear, engine starts, and "no CAN combustion engine communication" fault code is recorded on ESP, FSCU, ESM, VGS and IC. Fuses, relay, CAN lines have been checked. I want know if I replace N3/10 ECM ME9.7, N10/1 front SAM, N73 EZS or ELS.

Hi, for this exact same vehicle I have a major issue 1 : after doing an online programing of the ecu and front and rear sam , it suddenly says hood sensor no com and back seat rest latch code comes on ( previously before the online programing no such issue and even the car hood doesn't seem to have Been equipped with any sensor for hood warning for my 2009 w204 ) 2: I try to activate the teach in drive authorization and when it gets to the part when it says start engine and allow to idle for 30secs , the Benz won't start until I turn the key back off and try to start it again before the engine will start which at this time the process fails , I'm using the launch immo elite , also launch pad vii and topdon phoenix plus , yet no success, please I really need your help

Obviously you've seen this problem before, which is a big plus for your diagnosis. Without the info in front of me, I did somewhat understand your path of diagnostics and how the "start" signal flows from the key to the starter. Would a wiring diagram and/or service information have helped to locate the problem? Or did you take the time on your own to figure out how the system functioned?

It took having a failure of each component to come to this process Service info does help tremendously. I'll see if i can find if there's anything that spells it out

Hi there I have a issue with my Mercedes clc cdi 220 2009. When I turn the key full turn to start the car all lights come on and the needles all move up and drop back down again but the car will not crank, I then turn the key back to position 1 then turn to position 2 leave for a few seconds the turn all the way and the car starts. If I'm in traffic crawling sometimes the car cuts out I have had 4 different mechanics do diagnostics and had the crankshaft sensor changes ,I've had the key and switch checked and tested and all is fine. I have spent around £400 so far trying to get to the bottom of this issue but no mechanic can seem to fi d out what the problem is and its getting frustrating now. Have you got experience with these cars and do you do full checks to what can cause a issue like this?

when i insert my key in on c300 it says remove key from ignition.. i took my car to the mechanics and they said they have to replace ignition steering lock and steering column. and i have to pay $1 100 to fix. I wanted to do it myself but it is a lot of things and steps to do and i don't wanna mess my car up..

I have a 2010 MB C300 and with the same issue. The car doesn’t turn on. I insert the key and the dashboard pops up “remove key from ignition.” After several attempts in trying to start it, the dashboard changes to only show the mileage. After several attempts the car will eventually turn on but sometimes it takes hours. I only have one key for the car. What do you suggest I do? Thank you!

My Benz just did this the other day, was running fine, shut it off and it wouldn’t start after, so I bought a battery and changed it out, and still no start everything comes alive when I put the key in but won’t turn over when I turn the key, any pointers ? Having the a similar issue with my 2012 c300. However when i put the key it just tells me to take it out. Lights turn on so does radio car locks and unlocks. But wont start. Wont even make the motorized noise when I first insert the key like it always does. Turn the key nothing try to start it nothing but everything else works. What can i do ?

So I’m not entirely sure, my guess is the circuit board not sure tho because it started the day before yesterday just fine then last night I go to get in and immediately noticed that when I inserted they I did not here the normal mortised noise that normal sounds when I insert the key. Dash board comes on and lights and radio ect ect but will not crank, start nothing

My new to me 99 W210 had intermittent no crank no start. Luckily, it was not DAS related. Turns out K40 relay control module was bad. Swapped out the complete unit. Should have tried swapping starter relay first but the complete K40 was $25 from the junkyard so in it went. My TCM had fluid wick. Any fluid on the connector means there is some inside the module. I opened my TCM and cleaned PCB and case. Plastic harness connector in transmission is not sealing and has to be changed.

Xentry has a test for the drive authorization, works slick. Identifies faulty column locks and eis in seconds.

Yes I've used it as well. It's great for those who have Xentry. most of my audience does not have it though. anyone can look at live data much faster than that test. So long as they understand the sequence of events from key insert to cranking

Amazing video! 🙌 Since removing the battery and reconnecting after few hours my car does not start now only opens and closes windows, car cluster goes on but does not change when key is turned or accessible either setting etc. After a few days only one out of the two keys open the doors. It was the steering lock, i sent the EIS and ESL to a guy and made me a bypass for the ESL for like 100 euros

Hey was up Mario , could you have inserted a random Benz key into the slot to verify Ezs system was reading and borrow it down to just a dead key ? Usually you'll get like a wrong key message on the dash right ? Good video, I was just thinking how I would tackle this without the autel immo tool .

Not trying to step on any toes here. There are micro switches and hall efffect sensors inside the EIS. When the key is inserted, the "slider" pushes up on a lever closing one and when the fob gets turned there are others that get activated. This is the mechanical status the EIS needs so it knows what position the fob is in. And is what you are seeing on the left hand column of the scanner during the first scan.

This is happening to the models that use that system from around those years, EVERYONE report to NHTSA and to MBUSA, they have to fix this for free or a CLASS action will cost them more

So I have a 2013 Mercedes c300 4 matic the coolant light came on when first cranked yesterday morning made a trip to get coolant came back and left the engine completely cool off and added the coolant and now it will not crank the dash lights come on (every sensor) have noticed a slight hum noise prior to turning on and off for about a month now fuel pump plus sensor was replaced about a year and half ago noticed the cars Bluetooth will shut off within 3 minutes after parking and use to play for over 30 minutes.. any suggestions thanks for this video I learned a lot!
