These are a great all round performer , fuel economy is actually better than many similar cars such as a 5.0 Mustang , these will easily use only 9 litres per 100km on a trip. Five star safety , timeless looks , four adult seating , and the most reliable AMG engine ever made. After 20 years you do some maintenance to tighten up the steering response and the transmission , and they will perform better than many much newer cars on the road. 2005 or 2006 are the best ones with six piston Brembos and quad tailpipes.

What you mean with tighten up steering wheel? Because i have a CLK500 but at low speed the steering wheel doesen't turn back to straight position itself , maybe something wrong with it

@@ryan9543 I mean suspension maintenance like replacing the front control arms . Also for steering you can check or replace the tie rods. Also check your power steering pump is working and replace the power steering oil and the reservoir which has a built in filter.

​@@Leonardo555ZZZok thanks for the advice, i'll check. I already replaced OEM suspensions with Bilstein B14 , and top mounts, but nothing has changed with the steering wheel behave.

@@ryan9543 Yeah steering is more affected by the tie rods and the upper control /torsion arms , which often need to be replaced because the rubber bushings at the chassis mount fail .

@@ryan9543 As an owner of a 2005 CLK 55 AMG Coupe, it isn't supposed to reset itself necissarily like some of the bigger mercs if you're talking about the steering wheel repositioning to the center on it's own. However, Tie Rods are a must along with thrust bearings needing checked. These W209's are almost 20 years old, the W208's are even older so the rubber components are tending to wear out on these cars. It's not horrible, but it's something to look out for. Symptoms of a bad thrust bearing usually manifest themselves when you are coming to a stop and hear a "thunk" similar to an engine mount going bad sometimes. Also, your tie rod ends might be worn and tie rod ends for these are a safety hazard as they are what helps keep the wheel and hub on straight up and down. If your suspension feels worn, those tie rod ends are the FIRST place you should look. Leonardo555ZZZ is spot on, the power steering reservoir has a built-in filter which needs replaced when you change the fluid. The reservoirs are under $45 from Mercedes-Benz themselves and I would not use another brand because that filter is what keeps your Power Steering Pump functioning properly over time. These cars don't need much though, just basic maintenance and the small areas that are weak points really are easy to prevent from failing completely even. Just keep an eye on things and you'll be alright!

I did actually, after the GoPro died because of overheating, so it sadly wasn't captured. Although I do keep it respectful with other peoples cars and on public roads.

@@TheKatastrofen2 No, but he does make a point. These are FULL BLOWN AMG's, not just a regular Mercedes-Benz with AMG goodies. Even the M113 has been given special treatment from AMG from the ground up. They NEED to be opened up completely more often than a normal Mercedes to ensure the engine remains clean. They don't need beat on like a Rotary engine or a Turbocharged car, but they do need to be driven like they were designed to be driven at least once in a while. NOT ABUSED, but just enjoyed.
