If you drive the 3.0d first and then drive this smaller engine, you will see the difference, the 3.0d suits the car perfectly and it just wafts along effortlessly, unlike the smaller diesel which strains on hills and motorways, plus there is'nt a huge difference in economy

That first gen looked so much better than the actual version (as of May 2017), it really looks sharper IMO

How is it possible that I average in E class 2014 with the same engine driving around Leeds 35 mpg? If the traffic is heavy 25 mpg, on the motorway usually around 45 mpg

I have the 350 CDI and it is quick. If I could afford the 5.5 v8 I would have that one.

buying 3.0 litre diesel engine with 265 hp is not wasting money. in this car you have 201 hp 0-60 in 7.7 seconds, and the 265 hp CLS does 0-60 in 6.2 with slighlty more consumption. getting CLS 250 CDI IS wasting money. you definitely should get 350 CDI

i got the 350 but in my country we pay a 700 dollars tax for engines over 2 liter,the 250 in europe is saving money specially in germany wich has a higher tax.but if you have money for this car you have for the tax

Absolute bollocks, if you had of drove both of these cars you would know the four-cylinder I was nowhere near the grunt of the six cylinder, and is a lot more inferior drive off to the six.
