I drove my EX30PU from Stockholm to Malmö and back earlier this week and i can attest that the charging curve on it (and Smart) is crap! First the siesta if you arrive with less than 10% and that huge dip after 80%, it’s really a pain to charge past 80%. I hope there will be an update on that too.

Charging a battery is like a parking lot, when its empty you can fly in and park where ever, when its getting full you have to drive round finding space which takes more time

Looks like the voltage of the new EQA 250+ battery is a bit low.

Today I charged 54 kWh in 32 mins (6-80%) with my EQA 250 (non-plus) from 03/2023. Peak charging power "only" 104 kW, but super flat curve. At the end, I reached 414 V, which the 250+ battery didn't even reach at 90%. This explains, why the 250+ battery charges so much slower. So happy that I didn't spend the extra money for the 250+ instead of my 250.

Thats non sense! You can still order the slighty smaller battery if you are buying a 250 without a plus . 250, 300, 350 still uses the in house produced battery. The facelift of EQA EQB did not effect the powertrain!

@@visionmodernclassics3062 he didnt say anything about the powertrain, just stated that the facelifted car despite the higher price tag has a worse absolute and much worse relative (to the bat size) charging curve. Ioniq 38 kWh joined the chat

Thanks, very interesting. I Like the efficiency and the design of the EQA, but the charging speed is not acceptable for long trips, especially if you look at the price of the car. Guess Mercedes does not invest any monies into the old platform

I have not managed to ever get more than 93kw charge speed into my EQA350 despite using 100/150/350kw chargers. Have used navigation to get there so it should "know" its to charge. Is there anything I can try to check this is not a defect?

I rather would have a high charging speed at low SOC than a flat curve, better for Roadtrips who charges over 80% on a Roadtrip?

If the charging speed of the 250+ is limited by its battery type's reliability then that's a serious concern about the lifetime of such a car. If it is however limited by choice and not by limitations, that's just capitalism - worrisome to the same, maybe bigger extent.

Every car has limited charging for reliability reasons of battery. The 250+ Adds the same amount of kWh in 30 min as the #1

@@verboseEV while the #1 having a smaller battery so that is a higher relative charging speed - a so called higher C-rating. The 250+ managing less than 1.3 C is a very disappointing result with today's battery tech.

Its a exclusive battery for the 250+ which was already available before the Facelift /Mopf. So the howl powertrain in Facelift Version was not touched at all. You still recieve the in House battery with the higher operating voltage if you Go for a 250,300 or 350
