Hamilton has just been betrayed by Mercedes. And some might say this is their payback for him leaving for Ferrari at the end of the year. But what they have just done, or rather blocked is surely going to make things though for Hamilton at Ferrari.

Mercedes betrayed sir Hamilton way back in 2021 at Abu Dhabi final when they dropped the case and a very legitimate case it remains. They refused him ambassadorship which nobody else is better suited for, they never listened to him about how best to set the car for the past 2 years. They didn't agree to the money asked for his new contract which is negligible compared to mercedes now losing £7bn in stocks since Lewis announced his move to Ferrari. Sir Hamilton is way better off without mercedes and he knew it so he made his move. He deserves better and got what he deserves. He was and is still the best driver on the grid hands down that's why big teams are willing to pay a premium for him bar mercedes. I would have left mercedes after 2021s betrayal. But hey ho that's just me.

Toto and Mercedes are not fools. There is exactly zero value in doing anything as revenge. It distracts from the main game, diverts resources, and makes enemies. You don't promote the wrong guy just to spite Lewis. You promote exactly the correct guy to the job. Perhaps Lewis' leaving made the promotion easier, but it sure as hell won't have been to stop him going with Lewis.

So Mercedes "betrayed" Hamilton by keeping THEIR member of staff. Last time I heard, Bono was employed by Mercedes and not by Lewis. It's amazing how deceiving these headlines and stories are. If anyone has been betrayed it was Mercedes when Hamilton from the shocking bomb shell on them that he would be cutting his contract short and leaving the team in the lurch. 25 will also be the first time Mercedes do not have a world champion in the car since their comeback

the contract was for 1 year with a 2nd optional year - obviously it needed both partiez to agree to the 2nd year extension. hamilton didn't cut the contract short; he merely decided not to extend for the 2nd year. everything totally correct. mercedes were hedging their bets by signing a 1 + 1 year contract, and didn't agree to a post racing ambassador role. they didn't try to keep hamilton in place lol.

I’m sorry? Mercedes betraying mr. Woke? I believe it was Hamilton who signed with Gerrari without negiotating with Mercedes. Now he can’t cherrypick in his former employer’s organization he shows his true colors: being a Big crybaby. @@stammetje123 the negotiations with mercedes yielded a 1 year contract for 2024 with another optional year [if both parties wanted to continue]...hamilton wanted a longer contract along with a brand ambassador role, but mercedes had no interest. the negotiations were concluded in mid 2023, and hamilton honored the contract fully by deciding not to race for mercedes in 2025; mercedes could also have told hamilton that he wouldn't be racing for them in 2025. mercedes f1 thought they had the upper hand, only to be out played.
