Great video and very informative. Keep them coming. I have a GL. Process is exactly the same for a lot of it.

Cool, Thanks for the video. Keep them coming, love to see you do the lower ball joints.

Appreciate it. I've actually been thinking about doing that soon, but it seems like a pretty involved process so I'll do some more research

Interesting, I live in Socal so super cold weather or corrosion aren't really things I have to worry about 😂

Hey Sam! Any chance you can upload a video on how to replace the rear torsion bar links for the ML63? Thanks!

Hey there! Yeah I can order the parts now, I don’t think mine are problematic, but can’t hurt haha

Hi, did replacing the drop link get rid of the clunking noises for you ? Thanks
@SamAbraham Жыл бұрын
Cant remember, but this is a common source of clunking. Control arm bushings can do that too. If its more of a click could be strut mounts or upper control arm ball joints. If its a creak, then sway/torsion bar bushings

Hello, I own W164 AMG . And now im going to change the front lower control arm back bushings. Did you change it ever? Can you please send me photo of yours.. because i think mine are different. Because i think to use from R classe. Thank You.
@SamAbraham3 жыл бұрын
I actually changed the whole control arms instead of the bushings. The GL, ML, and R class all share identical control arms so you shouldn't have a problem at all. Even the AMGs use the same arms as the others. Hope this helps.

@@SamAbraham did replacing your lower control arms ever get rid of the clunking noise or did just the torsion bar links get rid of it ?

Solid video! Any chance you can show the process you use for getting the car on 4x jack stands?
@SamAbraham4 жыл бұрын
Hey there, yeah I can do that soon. There's a pad underneath the front end where you can jack the front of the car up. Then I just jack the back of the car up using the trailer hitch. Only jack up the back of the car with the hitch if your car came from the factory with it. If its an aftermarket hitch, jack up from the rear differential. Also use the rear diff if you don't have a hitch at all!

Samuel Abraham Samuel Abraham copy! I’ve just been all over the internet trying to figure out the best way to do it (e.g. some say use the rear diff, some say don’t...). Could you use the control arms?
@SamAbraham4 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't use the control arms in most cases as they aren't designed to take the vehicles weight in that orientation. Rear diff is fine in most cases, but I recommend putting a piece of wood in between your jack and the diff to more evenly distribute the weight. That's how I lift the rear of my other cars.

How did you get the torq data ? Where can i Buy acces to that Mercedes data specs?
@SamAbraham2 жыл бұрын
Just found it in a forum some time ago, wish I had access to the dealer digital manuals that have all that info. There are ways to get it if you buy a whole $300+ "unauthorized" setup, but its probably worth it
