AEW's way of doing things benefits people with their own ideas who truly understand their own character, advocate for it and more importantly have a long term vision for it. If you look at the best long term story arcs in AEW: Toni Storm, Hangman and Swerve, what they all have in common is, that they know who their character is, where they want their character to get to and the story beats that take them there. They blend the real, the kayfabe and spectacle to tell stories that you want to see where they go next. Mercedes just seems to be doing a parody of her own WWE run that isn't telling a story, it's an exhibition you only need to see once.

Mercedes is practically playing the same character she did in 2015. She's comfortable with it and it made her money so she can't break out of it. She's had no growth as a performer outside the ring. And her inside the ring hasn't blown anyone away either.

While there have been a lot of wwe transplants that haven't clicked, there's a quite a few more than punk and Danielson that have. I mean Moxley, swerve, Adam Cole, edge, Claudio and others have come over and been successful, or at least found their place in aew. Which brings me to one of Mercedes problems, I think. There is no.place for her in the company other than the top. The hype around her and the nature of her character are such that fans either have to accept her as championship material right off the bat or not accept her at all. The others can fill a niche on the mid card, experiment a bit with character and story, let fans get used to them and wait for their moment in the sun 6 months or a year later, but she's all or nothing. Aew is complicit in that they went for the short term pop of a big star arriving rather than thinking longer term and revamping her into a more versatile character who can do interesting stories without belts in play. But i get it, the immediate pressure to increase ratings is hard to resist. But they may have written themselves into corner by doing so.

@@RVIZOtheSIN Sashas best run was in nxt with decent writing and booking. Afterwards, she was the least successful of the 4 Horsewomen. Charlotte was written with her dad's gimmick and little else. Becky didn't become the man until she fought after her broken nose. Nothing to do with having a great gimmick as much as fans riding a hype. Bayley couldn't get over as babyface. Finally got into something she was successful with during covid. The most successful woman at that time due to decent writing, booking, and her promos was Alexa. Finally, Sasha tried to make a legit tag division and Vinces team wouldn't allow it. Now, hhh took control. Writing has become better. Tags are being taken more seriously, as are the women. Rhea, Bianca, Tiffy, Jade, Chelsea, now Giulia and Stepanie V coming... yea. Sasha in WWE would be better now. Iyo, Kairi, Asuka were also used best by hhh. Vince ruined the Asuka hype. And many women got hurt unnecessarily by booking Ronda and Nia before they were ready. Finally hhh took over and got Nia the training she needed. Has put Jade with Bianca so Jade can learn from a vet. Much like wrestlers used to do.

Problem is that AEW palookas are ungrateful they even have a female wrestler of her calibre in the company.. Another problem is that if she heads back to Wwe She is going to find herself completely eclipsed by Tiffy Time ,Jade Cargill ,Maxine Dupri etc. So she is at a crossroads right now. But if I were her ,Id just pack my bags and go back home where I will be appreciated and protected and that is the WWE .

She has Kamille by her side to help, but then immediately says “see I don’t need kamille to win”. Okay why bring her on with you in the first place? Turning heel was the right call off the bad but the problem is she’s not diving deep enough into it and she’s not getting any heat. She’s gotta change it up a bit
