DiagnoseDan Hello Dan, i'm following you a few months. I like the way you solve the problems. I need your help. I have a passat 2.0 tdi model 2008. Two days ago,had a problem with electric power steering. The code is 00569 and the description:current on the steering motor, electrical circuit permanently open. I would appreciate any help. Thank you for your time.

George K, I would like to help of course. But it's tricky to go just by codes. To know for sure what's wrong a proper diagnosis must be performed. The electric motor,Power and grounds need to be checked.😎

Dan, you're amazing. I am an avid watcher of Scanner Danner and have learned a huge amount from his channel. Thing is he mainly deals with US machines, very nice but not relevant here in the UK. So when I found you it was gr8 to find someone just as amazing as Paul but on cars relevant to Europe. Huge thank you for everything you share with us. Gr8 vidz, educational, entertaining and fun to watch‼️

To further support Alec's comment, I'm in the states and I'm a scannerdanner subscriber too. I think I've watched all of his videos multiple times and I have his book. Danner's video's have been very helpful to me as I do work on many of the models in his videos. He's excellent. I'm a man that can admit to my shortcomings though. The European cars have been a challenge to me. Until I found DiagnoseDan, I was kind of lost when it came to vehicles on the other side of the pond. lol. I've always known the Euro cars were essentially doing the same thing ours are, I just didn't know how. Thanks to DiagnoseDan, I've gained a huge amount of knowledge and a FUNDAMENTAL understanding of these systems. I'm no longer worried about taking on that BMW with a weird running problem. Thanks to you DiagnoseDan!!! YOU are definitely the European version of Scannerdanner. Coming from me, that is the highest compliment I can give anyone in this field. Thank you! Keep the videos coming. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you're doing to help all of us.

I'm a builder hoping to learn sufficient to stay informed and maybe do some of my own work now. I bought a 2008 6 series and the day after purchase engine management light diagnosis was for 6 new injectors. My garage allowed me to do the job at their workshop. This car was meticulously serviced by BMW- they told me. Full service history from them. However, when I found they had mixed injectors contrary to their info spec, and the air filter was many years old ( it was date stamped ), the trust dwindled. Recently I drove it through a ford and a load of lights came up afterward. Some guy diagnosed it saying it was not worth repairing. 6k waste of car. I don't think so. My garage don't seem interested. So here I am loving your vids Dan.

Dan you saved me time on the c300 I bought for my son. After throwing coils and plugs at it ( never a bad idea) I still had codes. I ordered injectors (also not a bad idea with 108k) and after getting the fuel rails off and wiring loose enough, I figured the intake is much easier to R&R at this time. Sure enough the valve that controls the butterflies on the intake runners was completely broken. Much easier that reassembly and them removing all togas tedious wires and vacuum lines I’m well versed with American cars, you saved the day

Good job Dan! Glad to see you working on Mercedes, I might find something I haven't dealt with yet. The M272 and M273 motors are known for having issues with the variable intake runner manifolds, usually it's the little rocker arm connecting the middle vacuum actuator that breaks or one of the actuator shafts or a combination. So I guess 10+ years is the most lifespan one can expect from this intake manifold. It's kinda bad, they are quite pricey.
@Diagnosedan
@Diagnosedan 6 жыл бұрын
Alin Marinescu, they are pricey. But better than taking the risk of the loose parts inside the manifold being sucked into the engine!

Oh yeah, you definitely don't want plastic flying through your intake. I just cleaned mine really well, degreased and tested everything and so far it's doing really well. It probably has another couple of years left in it until it bites the bucket. How many kilometres did the M350 you worked on had?

Dan, I am very impressed with your video. By the way, I have a 2009 ML 320 Bluetec with a persistent fault code P0101. Replaced MAF sensor, air filters and calibrated the ECU to adaft to the new MAF sensor & air filter at the Mercedes dealership shop, fault code disappeared for a while but after 2 months at the middle of traffic jam in a hot summer day the same code appeared again. I deleted the code but keep coming back. I do not want to come back again to Mercedes dealership and spend another $1000. I appreciate if you could give me some hint. I will just try to trouble shoot it myself this time. Did not find any leak on turbo discharge pipe joints as well as the inter-cooler inlet and outlet connections. No hesitation, idle is excellent, did not noticed any power reduction or increased fuel consumption.
