Owned once but sold due to expensive repairs. Anyway it's a great car, feels very light, turning radius, safe as tank. Mines a 420sel, converted to m117xxxxxhv, then om617 turbo.

A beautiful car indeed. I never believed I'd ever own a Mercedes, let alone the 89 420 SEL I obtained last year. It is wine red and I named it 'Manfred' for the German flying ace von Richtofen. On a long trip I have achieved 30 MPG from the 420 and that comes from only using the most expensive and highest octane fuels, 98 and up. Don't ever use ethanol fuels in Mercedes engines. My wife owns a silver 1987 230E and we get great enjoyment out of driving these classic cars.
