My 2002 R230 has a big electrical problem, which, so far, no one has been able to sort out, I already replaced both batteries, the alternator, which was toasted, the 100 AMPs fuses down on the passenger side and after all this, it's very common for the battery to give me this convenience message after only one day of the car being off in the garage. I already tricked the car 3 times in thinking all doors are closed, then i connected the ammeter between the negative terminal of the convenience battery and the chassis ground and after less then 15 minutes, the reading on the ammeter its 0.06 amps, a very normal and conservative value that should be able to keep the batterie well outside this message range for several days, however, in 24 hours, the battery will drop to 11 volts or less, and if I leave it for longer it will keep dropping all the way down to 3 or 4 volts, so low that the new, full of protections, battery chargers wont even recognize the battery, I have to bring into action my very old school charger to charge it up. Do you have any idea of what this might be??? Thanks

Sounds like you definitely have a battery drain somewhere. Was the carpet wet when you changed the fuse behind the subwoofer, as water can get in from a blocked vent on the bonnet. Has any garage checked your BCM in the back is okay and not shorting, these can be detrimental to the car and cause a fire. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZCnY5t5ebJ4eLM

@@GrooveOn Thank you so much for your tips, I live in Portugal and the car's in the garage for 9 month a year, on top of that, I never drive it on the wet. When I replaced those big fuses behind the subwoofer everything was dry as a bone and I also checked the BCM, which the inside was like new, What really annoys me its the fact that after a little bit of fully locking the car, the battery only drops 0.06 AMPs. less then my BMW which drops 0.07 AMPs and the battery lasts for over a month, well I guess its an on going troubleshooting

I had another new battery supposed to be for car, however like you I needed to drive the car about 10 mins then the conveniences message went. I then got genuine Mercedes battery from dealer never had any issues since. I drive the car about once a week sometimes longer. Hope this helps

How can I get rid of this msg?? I have a e500 4matic 06 I changed out the auxiliary battery twice .. still looses power overnight I bought. Agm battery from auto zone . Everything reads fine far as amps and voltage .. but yes it is very cold at the moment here in California . My radio and navigations are off

The battery at the back is important, i recommend the mb one. The convenience error should go after 12 mins of driving, your battery should not drain overnight and last for a good 3 weeks if charged.

Can anyone help me !!! Car has been in professional storage for 6 months. Mercedes 350sl 2006. Believe it or not the cars mileage has disappeared just a line of dashes where the cars mileage was ! Help please !!

Did the car have a battery tender on all the time? They can damage the SL. I'd suggest checking the voltage of your rear battery, and plug in a diagnostic, you may find driving for a while it will sort itself

Bad information; "The battery in the front just starts the engine." Not true! This battery is primarily for the braking system.
@GrooveOn7 ай бұрын
It's also called the 'starter battery' in Mercedes manual, for the obvious reason and it's written on the battery cover itself.
