Thank you once again Val - I believe that most of us R129 owners have this same problem with the side glove storage units! I know I do with mine & have wondered how to attack this needed project - but you’ve once more proven to us (your R129 subscribers) that it can be done and with pretty much ease as you lay it all out for us in this very informative video. Thanks Mark for your wonderful comment. I'm thinking more and more about why these side storage unit hinges fail. Yes, the plastic does fail over many years but I think, it's how the passenger opens the door from the inside. They use the handle and then give it a push outward by pushing in and around the glove box instead of higher up on the door panel. And it's this constant push on the storage unit through the years that likely contributes to most of its demise. It should come with its own warning sticker - 'do not push here'.

@@HandyVal you are so correct! Are the new units metal or hard plastic? Somewhere I thought I saw new ones for sale that were metal units not plastic. Just curious. But again - thank you for your kind comments Val. A lot to tell you but not here - I’ll be in touch🙏

New ones are still made out of plastic and they appear well made. I think they will last a long time.

Handy Val.....THANK YOU for this video and the door panel removal video! Used them both this past weekend to replace the door pocket hinge. Without them it would have taken me significantly longer and I know I would have broken something!!! Keep the R129 videos coming!!!
