Hi thanks for trying to share the sprinter maintenance help. The music and traffic makes it hard to enjoy it though. It would be nicer if it was just silent except for when you are teaching. also take the camera with you so we can see what you are doing. Thanks for your time though!

It’s really nice to see you on the ground under the vehicle working on on the truck that’s all we see is you on the ground maybe you should’ve instructed everybody on how to put your shoes on and off while you were down there

My friend, the serpentine belt is the focus of the overall well-being of the vehicle! Imagine the belt is rotating around our planetary system, smoothly! Especially in the imbalanced tdi straight 5cly, the spinning forces just don’t match up. But you can live machine those parts to make the belt spin smoother!
@akkbuilders

Tdi straight 5 is notorious for engine vibration which leads to all problems in the vehicle, especially electrical. It shakes everything loose because of it’s awesome torque!

The German engineers were brilliant, but their flaws in selling this engine was cheap manufacturing process! They paid cheap contractors for matching their parts! All for corporate profits! Sad!

Suggestions: you need a remote microphone so you are wearing it. Too much outside noise, music is way to loud. Should have said what size hex key you use to hold the tensioner out.

Yes that is an Excellent Idea and I am working on that solution, and have recently learned how to match audio to external mic in editing process, this is why some of my Old Videos will get a redo for Better sound with voice over, to be on point to my topic, and not to waste your time, my goal is to have information that is easy to understand yet, you can get it go and not waste time, also try to make shorter Videos as a while, all this will be using professional Editing software, I got the Hang of it now wich is great, it lookd hard at first, But this channel came a long way considering i started it less then 6 months ago as a Hobby, but i resided to go Pro. Hope you enjoy and please feel free to give me tips I can use them lol.

Question ? can you restart the sprinter without the belt on ? trying to not occur a 2nd towing fee to my mechanic to get the belt replaced? with your help I may try to replace it myself?

I do not have the correct belt diagram for my 2006 sprinter mb OM647. I only can find diagrams that show TWO "idler" pullies (from CD ULTIMATE SERVICE,other info on this cd has been helpful). i have only ONE "idler" pulley which is located just above the drive belt tensioner. I cant route my mb belt using that diagram. I believe i found a diagram that that shows NO "idler" pullies on line. So i will try agan. I dont like curveballs. thanx for quick response. I will view your video just offered

Serge My name is Paul i wrote you email also I have 2017 sprinter . it is not much driven it is only 12000 miles . i was changing oil and did not position my o ring properly so i had oil leakage squirting out of filter housing what sprayed oil on my engine and on serpentine .we stopped engine in not more than 10 second but by then i had a puddle . then my serpentine belt kept sitting in oil on pulleys till next morning . I bought engine degreaser so called safe for belts and kind of cleaned it twice. my question is 1. is it ok to drive my van after it dries out ? 2. how quickly i have to change my serpentine belt and cranck belt 3.though my belts are not driven much they look good do i have to change tensioner pulley also . 4.can i change it myself with your video info 5. i put my van into neutral to move my cranck pulley to clean under areas those are not moved can i turn it this way or any suggestions
@ZimaletaMotors
@ZimaletaMotors 2 жыл бұрын
Hey, I know you want me to answer allot of questions but maybe it’s best to just make a video on that, but I will say this, I don’t recommend cleaning your engine, unless you disconnect your car battery and make sure that non of your sensors or connectors get water in them, not saying that if you get them wet it will cause major problems, but this vans can throw all kinds of codes and go into limp mode sometimes for no reason, it’s best to play it safe, but in your situation you had no choice and it looks like you got a cleaner that is safe, I am not sure how much oil made it to the belt or tensioner, and if you were able to clean all oil off, I don’t see any reason that you can’t drive your van right away, as for the replacement of belt, I recommend to replace it 50-80k but replace all belts and pulleys, because if you simply replace 1 pulley or 1 belt, and let’s say some other pulley fails, it will shred your belt or belts, so if your hearing rattling sound coming from the front of your engine, it’s time for new belts and pulleys, but I recommend you keep old ones as spares

good video. but would be better if you actually showed where the tensioner pulley is located and how you took the belt off and on. i understand its difficult to record all that with one person but it would make the video so much more informative. thanks again

Great video tha nks! Can you show replacing the idle pulley? Is that easy? Is it just 1 bolt holding it in?
@ZimaletaMotors
@ZimaletaMotors 8 жыл бұрын
I have made the video me replacing the idler pulley's and the tensioner pulley and the correct way to put the belt on, just need to edit it and put it on, Idler pulley just takes one 50 torques Allan ranch and 40 torques on tensioner and 60 torques Allan ranch to adjust the belt, All this I have on my next video, I used a different van to make it, with front end dissembled so you can see everything. is there anything else i can show you how to replace, just let me know, i have some free time this week i can make a video. thanks for watching please Subscribe.

Great I'll watch for that video. I have a 118" with 200k. The only issue I have is 'RSN' right around 35-40MPH. Never occurs on the freeway and the van is mostly used for long road trips. I changed the fluid out and it did help slightly but the RSN did not go away completely. Do you have any RSN on your vans? Have you ever done the RSN fix from Dr.A that you can find on the fourms? I think this would make a great video. I do not see one on youtube.
@ZimaletaMotors
@ZimaletaMotors 8 жыл бұрын
i know Dr A, i talked to him on the phone a while back with stuff i was doing, but i am not familiar with RSN what is that short for, let me know i will reply right away.
@JonGould5607
@JonGould5607 8 жыл бұрын
It's a shutter that comes from the transmission. Dr.A is the brains behind it. At one time he sold a kit. (I dont think he does anymore) I was hoping the new transmission fluid would fix it. I've been just living with it but it's annoying. Here is most detailed article I can find on it dieselrepairblog.wordpress.com/2012/03/23/sprinter-transmission-rsn-repair/
@ZimaletaMotors
@ZimaletaMotors 8 жыл бұрын
ahh ok yes i know what your talking about, i have seen Dr As Topic on this way back, its basically caused by the torque converter and you drill a tiny hole in the valve body to stop it, but to be honest with you, i just wont worry about it, i have been driving sprinters for a long time and some are worst then others and i have some problems with it now, but only some times, after i have changed the transmission and the torque converter, it was kinda hard noise in the bigining but after driving for less then 1k miles the noise has kinda disapiard, i personaly think my problem was due to dry valve body and silinoids, because i cleaned it with break cleaner when i took it apart and i let it sit for a 2 weeks, and when i drove it for 1k miles i think it oil things up now the nice is less oftain,

I am going to give you some constructive criticism. The sound is as important as seeing "get a microphone". It will help eliminate a lot of the background noise. I like the music but it is up to high. You are not actually showing how you do it. I hope this helps and I hope to see more videos. good luck.
@ZimaletaMotors
@ZimaletaMotors 7 жыл бұрын
+John Ferb thanks so much, yes your absolutely right I could not have said it better myself, I am no longer adding sound to the video unless it’s a time lapse, but not while I am working and talking, also, I have improved the sound, and for this particular camera I have bought a boom mic or a shotgun mic I hope it helps, but I record most videos using iPhone 7 and it has great sound, not doing any 4K videos yet but thinking about it, also about seeing what i am doing, in this particular-case it was not easy to get the shot, so I will be remaking this type of video, I just removed an I tire Front End on one of the Sprinters I am working on, and I will record how to change belt with better viewing angle and show how to change pulleys and tension pulley and also will be remaking videos with better sound for high pressure fuel pump and other stuff, thanks for letting me know this, I am working on improving all my future videos
