Ford has good interior, VW nice exterior and Mercedes a good fast engine. All vans are good, but my choice is Mercedes Sprinter, like quality.

Be crafter has a better interior by miles, better engine than the lot, better transmission, clutch is more car like and precise not mushy like the transit, steering has two modes light for town driving heavier for motorways, seats are blissful and good for your back and quality is tiptop. Sprinters and crafters used to be equal but the sprinter fell off when vw and Mercedes’ split apart on them and the transits are fucking joke, shit clutch, shit engines that blow up at 100-150k, awful driving feel, bad mpg, loads of cheap shit parts that break after a few years

I had to drive the old sprinter about 200 miles or so for work in the US. My boss bought a pretty loaded passenger 2013 sprinter (he’s a car dealer) and I picked it up from auction. It was the bluetec 3.0T Diesel and it was surprisingly fast. It only had the 5 speed auto, but I cruised wonderfully at the 82 MPH speed limiter and had no issues whatsoever overtaking cars. It honestly felt a lot fast than my mom’s Ford Escape (Kuga) 2.5 170bhp model. There was mountains of torque and enough power to accelerate decently.

Yes, Iveco has the same ZF 8 speed automatic as Crafter so it would be natural contender here. Those with automated manuals, I don't know... Trucks have them so they might be ok. Manual transmissions, now come on, who wants them any more? But, weight and axle ratio is important too...
