Thank you very much! I scratched my head 2 days with this problem, I even rebuilt the compressor but unfortunately I didn't think that there would be a hairline crack in the housing.

Hello, you should also replace the Relais for the compressor. The green one in the engine Relaisbox. The Contacts can be demaged from the actuation cycles to the compressor. You can open it an check. In the most cases (more then 80%) the contacts are damaged. You will see spark marks on it. After a short time their weld together and the compressor pump to die. You make great videos. I enjoy your videos. All bests.

Thanks a million for making this video. Great quality as always! :D I've just done the airbags in the back of my W212 Estate. It has 94000 miles, and it was getting to the point where it would squat down overnight. Haven't done the calibration yet, but I think thanks to your video and explanation, I def need to do that too. As even after changing the airbags, it's still not 100% back at the same level it used to be. Still sitting a little wonky in the back :)

This was again a nice video . I have fixed every imaginable problem on the airmatic system but mostly I have swapped compressors . People tend to drive with leaking shocks and the compressor works overtime and gets too hot . That´s why you have those hair cracks in that plastic housing . Imagine the pressure it has to build up . The seized up linkages also didn´t help . I have the weird feeling that this car wasn´t used as a daily driver . But again Luis you did a thorough job . Thanks for the upload .

Hey buddy , I'm glad I found this video maybe you can tell me what my issue is. So occasionally from time to time when I shut off my ML my air compressor won't shut off it will still run. The only way I can get it to turn off is to start up and raise all the way the lower it. Then it will shut off . my level is normal no sagging

pressure stress cracking, you get the same on pressure washing equipment, it will fail again, replacement seems to be the only solution, anyhow you found the problem, soapy water would have shown it straight away, well done, good try but a fix is usually just a test fix.

Hi, very informative piece and looks like a similar problem to my car, mine doesn’t have a pipe connected to the silver tube that comes out the front, is this normal (the one you show as perished? Regards Rich
@LMAutoRepairs2 жыл бұрын
Hi That is where the clean air is sucked in... The end on the pipe stays hidden so to prevent the pump from sucking dust and rubbish... If yours is not there, you either have a filter or a different system, or yours is missing... wich might have caused the pump to fail... 👍👍👍

@thomasrose69623 жыл бұрын
Tire pressure will not affect the level sensors cmon think about it!
@LMAutoRepairs3 жыл бұрын
Wrong... Does not affect the sensor directly... what he meant was the level itself... which obviously will do affect the level of the car...
@pedroneves82883 жыл бұрын
@@thomasrose6962 Since I'm not a mechanic I have no idea! Just wondering! But it's good to know that there's no real connection. Anyway, I've always thought that self leveling suspension posed an extra stress on the tyres. So I always thought that a correct tyre pressure on a car like this would be of paramount importance.

My guess is the corroded levers caused the car to keep trying to level with an incorrect reading, and the compressor running forever into a system that is already at its limit, causing it to blow the hose.

I’m getting a “vehicle rising please wait” message on the dash. I wait and nothing happens the vehicle doesn’t rise and I feel like I don’t hear anything from the compressor only the reservoir. I press the rise button and still the car doesn’t move. I can clear the message on the dash by pressing OK and I won’t get the message again until I turn the car off and back on… then the vehicle rising message appears again.. any ideas? I’ve replaced a strut in the front and fuses and relays only. 😢

Difficult to say... Is the car at the correct level? Have you scanned the car to see if there is any trouble codes? That seems lime the car is trying to get to a certain level, but something is preventing it from happening... 👍👍👍
