My friend in your very nice post there are few mistakes according to Mercedes DAS & my personal on board checks on a W203 C200 kompressor, 2000cc with DAS diagnostic. a) #1 pin is Ground for IAT and NOT MAF sensor, #2 pin is Power supply 12v, #3 pin is the MAF sensor, #4 pin is Power Ground, # 5 IAT sensor, all other are Ok.. b) IAT sensor #5 must NOT decrease as revs go up (!!?!!), instead must be steady approx. 2.5 - 2.8 volt (or 6060 Ω) at 20 degrees C. at IDLE, and as inlet air temperature rises, slowly volts (or ohms) must going down to 1.1 - 1.3 volt (or 1760 Ω) at approx. 60 degrees C.They can use a hair dryer to check it, thus to prevent misleading your followers. MAF should not be less than 4.5g/second at 0.5barg manifold intake pressure unless there is slight vacuum leak after throttle valve body of very slight crack in hoses along PCV valve. In early morning dip for engine oil level. Then start engine and switch on air cond. Keep engine running. After 2 minutes dip again for engine oil level with the engine still running. Oil level should drop by 20mm. If oil level increases more than 10mm then consider high blowby by your pistons. This would be the case if your PCV and hoses is still good.

Do you know what the reading of the MAF should be at idle in grams per second? I'm getting 2.3-2.4 g/s at idle when car is warm. But it sometimes drops to 1.8 g/s. I'm using an OBD scan tool with Torque Pro to monitor these readings.

During engine idling at 750rpm my MAF is reading at 4.6g/second at 0.5bar intake manifold pressure vs 5.7g/second by theoretical calculation. 750rpm/2/60 x 1.8litre engine x air density of 0.506g/litre at 0.5barg = 5.7g/second. Pressure in each cylinder at DBC, during end of intake stroke, should be a bit lower than the manifold intake pressure of 0.5barg. It is possible to be as low as 0.4 to 0.45barg when each piston is at BDC. This would account for MAF reading not getting to 5.7g/second. Further more blowby flow coming from PCV is not measured by the MAF sensor.

The engine will get a noticeable idle change and depending on how the PCM is programed , it's gonna run the engine on default mode with preestablished values . It will obviously trow a code and it will also run rich most of the time during the change in rpm .

4.5g/second by MAF at 750rpm at intake pressure of 0.5bar is likely a bit too low for a V6. Is it a 3 litre engine?. Nevertheless MAF should not be more than 9g/second even if it is a 3 litre engine sucking in air at 0.5barg at 750rpm. Connect your scanner into a similar car as yours to compare.

What could be the problem with my mercedes in 203 c180 petrol 2002? I drove home, turned off the engine. This morning it wouldn't start, I couldn't hear the fuel pump so I replaced it. The car still does not start, there was no pressure on the fuel rail, so I changed the fuel pressure regulator. The car still does not start. Do you have ideas what could be the problem?

Inform me to plan next step, otherwise go to a MB specialized garage.

Hello, i followed your great video, and I found that my w203 C180k has the same MAF sensor (5 male pins), and the connector cable has also 5 holes BUT only 4 of them have copper connection, there is one (for the fifth Pin from left to rigth) that only carries a plastic hole, seems that there is no connection at all from that Hole, is that normal? (the cable doesn't seems damaged, i wonder if the design is correct for my car) someone helpme thank in advance

Yes this is normal for w203 C180K, #5 pin is for intake air temperature sensor (as it is on w203 c200k) and in your case this sensor is in a separate place from the MAF unit !

Hi ! Can you describe first the symptoms that made you change the MAF and what codes did you had before changing it ? The IAT sensor it's on the same unit as the MAF sensor as I mentioned in the video ... If you have the exact engine , you will find 6 wires connector on the MAF & IAT unit . You might have to check if you get any signal from the PCM on that 6 wires connector first ..

In 28/11/2018 I have seen this code P0101 and since this time my car loss power and when I lift my foot on the accelerator; the rev-counters goes down to 500 and goes up to 1000 and stays like that for a sevral seconds. In the last 3 weeks this behavior happens more than one time by day. In the last week, I have disconnected the MAF for 3 days and my car works good (without the symptoms). I have put the new MA in the last weekend and the code P0113 appears and I feel that my car is not good at all.

First I am sorry to say but you probabily should not replace the MAF sensor . Try to do the test on the old MAF and clean the hot wires . The new MAF it sounds to me that it's not compatible with the car or you might have a short betwen the MAF unit connector and PCM - so test that . If you have a scan tool which shows you the values of the MAF and other data , the diagnostic process would be easier . Otherwise I can only guees it's a vacumm leak , a short or just dirty MAF sensor (the old one) and the new one is not compatible or defective(very rare) .

it might be because the computer thinks you are in D ( drive ) instead of (P) parking . you have to gather more data about the issue .
