Mercedes W205 C Class C220d 2014 Radio command screen not working issue problem explained

here's a short video to explain the problem behind faded lines coming up on the infotainment command screen system which is basically due to a faulty radio headunit located behind the central console.Unfortunately it is very common issue with w205 C class mercedes and it's ridiculous how mercedes couldn't help any of the owners or recall the car for this.So if you like the video please hit the like button and share it with someone you know who's having the same issue.Thanks

Command Online in Surrey are the people to supply and fit a replacement unit. I took my car to them a couple of years ago. Diagnosed correctly and fixed first time. Still perfect 2 years later.

I had exactly the same problem on my 2015 W205. I took it to both a main dealer thrn an independent MB specialist both saying it requireed a software update. Neither fixed it and idie charged me for privilege. Had it fixed at Command Online down in Surrey. Wasnt cheap but brilliant quick lasting repair.

I had exactly same issue in my C200- 2015. My battery was getting low and when i switch to new battery my screen came with vertical lines with no audio, NAV, media access. I had rear camera and temperature display coming up in screen every now and then for a moment, before screen went blank and rebooting. I book for diagnostic test in Mertrux garage- Derby. I was lucky, it was only software glitch. They update my software and now everything is back to normal. Spend £170 for diagnostic, job done... Please make sure you do diagnostic test before you do expensive repair. Good Luck

I had this problem recently, took car to Mercedes dealer in Spain, who performed a diagnostic test which indicated car needed software update, which they performed, and now all well for €170.

Hi mate yes luckily I managed to sort the problem out ,as stated in the video ,it was the headunit ,so I bought the headunit from eBay for £200 exactly same as the one in my car and then installed it myself which is pretty easy just plug and play and then I had to get it coded from A car locksmith who charged me £120 for coding and it works absolutely perfect like brand new and also my reverse camera started working as well which never use to before .

Thank you brother for video upload! I had the same problem and bought the radio head unit. After it was installed by a private garage, and decoding. After 3 months, the same problem started again. Please, can someone advice me what to do and where to get fixed? I bought the devive for £170 and had paid for decoding £120. I paid £300 and the problem is still there.

You need to replace the headunit not the screen

Like any normal software update or is it specific. Ive just recently had this problem and mercedes has sent me a letter for a mandatory software update for my engine
