I was sitting in the car and I never thought of looking up a help video for this issue. I fixed it in 30 Seconds with a temp solution, Due to not having any tools on hand. But will do the correct fix sooner than later lol 😂 Thanks from the North Bay in Cali

Thanks so much! Our clk had this issue and we used to just somehow jam it shut but then my brother opened it and then it wouldn't close again. We did this to it yesterday and now it functions great!

Too late for me unfortunately got heavy handed and shattered the plastic lock. £385 + £90 fitting for new glovebox, so I bought 4 slim magnetic door catches from Amazon for £7.99 , fitted across the top ...... perfect 🤗

i see this is 2 years old. i hope your still around. i have 06 clk that glove box wont close... i tried easy fix with card box folded on top of latch which made it very solid but still wont close... how do you determine if its the latch or the handle which has the metal closer . since this glove box fix has many steps, just wanted to see if there was a way to verify the closer is ok?Thanks

The fix worked perfectly but I'm having trouble screwing back the CD changer torx screw. Has anyone had the same challenge and wouldn't mind any ideas so I can secure the CD changer. Help!

I'm waiting on the dealer to send a new latch and paying for it to be fit . This is good to know thank you. Can you advise me, my brake dosnt release sometimes the light stays on and when I pull the handle it dosnt release it. Also the drivers window dosnt go up sometimes when I put it down a few inches try to put it up but nothing . Thanks

Did you get any help with the foot operated parking brake? Just got myself a CLK and the only way to disengage and fully turn off the park brake light is to pull the handle and lift the brake lever with my foot. Annoying haha

@@joshb5332 yes me to so I just don't use it lol mainly level roads. I sorted the glove box though I used magnets and wallah works a charm

@@debradurling317 I managed to fix my glovebox without magnets. The latch mechanism was caught underneath a plastic clip, which I just gently prised out with a screwdriver and boom, fixed! Now I just have a random spare pack of magnets to use elsewhere

Hi, sounds like the catch has been pushed so far in it’s putting pressure on the mechanism. Try putting pressure on the glove box door pushing it towards the front of the car while pressing the lever. This should ease the pressure and release it. Failing that you’ll have to force it. If the catch breaks it’s not the end of the world as Mercedes still carry all the spares you’ll need. Good luck, thanks for checking out the video.
